Numbers are back up again.

Around the Network

wow I thought someone would have made a comment over 1 million ps3 games or over 5% of the total in Japan just gone
sorry I don't know the other numbers

Yes I've noticed that, I know for sure that ioi is not counting "The Best" version of MGS4, Demon's Souls and Minna No Golf Portable 2 on PSP, so maybe he's trying a new thing? But then again he is counting it on other games so I'm not sure. Maybe he just stopped tracking them, it happens with a lot of trackers - famitsu, gfk, mc, npd - they all stop tracking certain games after a certain time. I can't be bothered to check other games numbers, but if you'd like you can check out famitsu numbers here:

http://www.geocities.jp/v7160c_l5/index.html
http://www.japan-gamecharts.com/

More often than not the 1st link has the most up to date numbers but sometimes that's not the case.

BTW, these are the Famitsu numbers on those 3 games I told you:

MGS4 - 706,461 + 84193 The Best = 790654
Demon's Souls - 166,327 + 22,928 The Best = 189255
Minna no Golf Portable 2 - 287.296 + 71,823 The Best = 359119

On further checking I think he definitely just stopped tracking some games, it must be expensive to track all these games....

Check out ToV for both PS3 and 360 for example

thank you very much

just was thinking though it's one thing to stop traking it's another to have over tracked and then cut them back.  Although the two can well be related if he were to just do estimates for smaller titles he stoped tracking and then find that things were wrong.

this is stupid... or i dont understand

Around the Network

Sales for some games in Japan have been cut off.
For example, games that might have been released over there in January and had their sales tracked only show the first 4 weeks.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

From the looks of it, they've stopped tracking when games drop below ~3k, and this seems to have been applied retroactively, going back about a year.  Also, possibly unrelated, but the weeks for a lot of games are screwed up.  Maybe they are indicating since a certain re-release.

It look's like it has been adjusted up again.

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Slaughterhouse Is The Sh*t  .... NOW ........ B_E_L_I_E_V_E

I'm sure Japan is hard to track. But then again we have Famitsu and Media Create so we could always use them when in doubt...
