Forums - PC Discussion - Help with Starcraft

I recently downloaded Starcraft from Blizzard and it is not working very well. At times it works fine and then freezes my computer. I have a feeling that it was designed for a different OS than 7 so that might have some affect. When my computer freezes the music plays but nothing works, not even the mouse.

Any ideas?

you could try downloading the xp virtual. it will just emulate all that is xp on windows 7

Do you have 32 or 64-bit Windows 7?

I have a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit partition and there was some sort of issue with many of the older games I tried such as Homeworld, Half-Life, Worms: Armageddon, and Age of Empires 2.

My CPU doesn't support virtualization so I can't tell you if XP-mode will take care of the issues. Thus, I suppose the next best thing is an XP partition.

I have a 64 bit 7. The partition sounds like it might work. I'll give that a try. Thanks a lot.

It works fine on my 32 bit vista and my 64 bit Windows 7 machines.
