The Popular Dark Void Coming to iPhone, PC

Capcom's jet-pack shooter Dark Void didn't do so hot when it hit consoles earlier this year, but the mini 8-bit game released on the DS was another story entirely.

Dark Void Zero, seemingly the product of marketing, was a fantastic little retro homage with 8-bit graphics and sound and gameplay reminiscent of early Metroid titles.

Good news, now, for fans of these sorts of games: Dark Void Zero is now bound for the iPhone and Windows PC on April 12.

These versions of the game will include new online features like achievements, the ability to connect with friends and online leaderboards that track high scores and speed runs.

This new version will also have a new, secret ending.

the "secret ending" in the PC version appears when you run out of machine activations and have to contact SecuROM support for more!

Yeah they just lost themselves a sale.

Fail Capcom, I thought you learned your lesson of not including DRM on Steam games.

It's a Steam exclusive as well. There is no need for 3rd party DRM.

Edit: Kotaku said popular...sorry.

They're putting SecuROM on a dorky little retro game?

I don't want to rootkit my computer for an awesome full-price game, I sure as hell won't be doing it for something like this.
