Natal COULD work with voice recognition, but I'll have a serious bet with anyone, it'll want you to talk in a snobby posh accent, see, I'm here in the UK, in Yorkshire, where we speak the worst form of english ever, that we've made our own words up, so I know it won't understand me unless I talk all posh in "Queens English", how about fuck that.

NO BUTTONS NO GO!

It isn't as much about buttons as it is about good interfaces. Buttons are easy, exact and we're used to them, so while it isn't impossible, it's rather difficult to make better interfaces.

Not playing a game because it isn't controlled with buttons is stupid. Not playing a game because it has a bad interface isn't.

This is invisible text!

natals doesnt mean you wont get to use buttons, they certainly can mix the controler with the technology of natal...

apple even has recently released add ons for the ipod touch an i phone to give them buttons

while not having buttons for some games work, as your directly controling something either via a touch screen or motion sensing, there are however many games which require pressing a buttons and nothing beats having tactile feed back, you know being able to feel that you've actually pressed a button rather than thinking you have.

I voted no, but only because of the absolute exclusivity of the poll options. I think there is great potential for RTS on a buttonless interface like the ipad. Also we have yet to see what kind of games Natal will even have so I'm keeping an open mind...

I enjoyed Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and Kirby Canvas Curse WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much to agree with this.

I agree with this. Touch controls in Phantom Hourglass were almost perfect.

I don't think you need buttons, for some things maybe but in general no. its just a type of interface. here is a argument against natal and touch screens though I cant remember were I got it I think it was on wiki.

Conversely, while arguing against the lack of physical contact in touch screen phones, PC Magazine's Sascha Segan argued in February 2009, "This is one of the reasons why we don't yet have the famous Minority Report information interface. In that movie, Tom Cruise donned special gloves to interact with an awesome PC interface where you literally grab windows and toss them around the screen. But that interface is impractical without the proper feedback—without actually being able to feel where the edges of the windows are.

correct me if I am wrong
stop me if I am bias
I love a good civilised debate (but only if we can learn something).

I agree, some games are just too difficult to play without the use of buttons. I couldn't play the more complicated, action type on my ipod touch.

Too many buttons repel the average gamer, so less buttons would be the ideal. However, there will be never gaming without buttons. How you expect to play a game like Modern Warfare, Mario Galaxy, NSMBW without the buttons? Yeah, only a few buttons is the ideal.

Above: still the best game of the year.
