Sony has issued a statement saying that the idea that Killzone 2 would be getting a 3D update was an 'erroneous inference'.

Over the weekend, it was reported that Killzone 2, along with Wipeout HDSuper Stardust HD ,LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo 5 would be getting a 3D mode this summer. It appears, however, that that is not the case, and Sony has apologized for the misunderstanding.

"That last feature [in Qore] included interviews, footage from CES 2010, and a brief montage of SCEA titles intended as examples of what 3D gaming might encompass. It is hard to do justice to just how amazing 3D gaming looks in a 2D presentation-even in an HD product such as Qore."

"Unfortunately, our feature did not make it clear that the 2D game footage was included for demonstration purposes only. We apologize for the erroneous inference that 3D versions of LBPWipeout HDKillzone 2Gran Turismo 5 or Super Stardust HD are in production."

for once before you post something just check GOD DAMN FACTS.

I have read that thing 2 days ago or so.I believe it was for KZ2 and maybe Little big planet.

gt5 was confirmed to be in 3D in some form a month ago:

http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5s-gps-functionality-3d-confirmed/

the rest has been played by reviewers on a PS3.Unless they want to scrap the whole engine, they will release it to public after the official announcements.

here is another link confirming that sony studios are working on making 3d GAMES:

http://www.edge-online.com/news/lots-of-sony-studios-at-work-on-3d-games

you only have one link and i ahve provided you with many links. That one link is not clear .It might be that sony denies it untill they offcially announce it.

just stop already.

yes, but it's still not healthy at all for users/gamers to use it on normal basis and considering that there's already a 3d technology made by sharp and samsung that doesn't have this problem and is much better(developed in late 2008/early 2009 that let's you watch 3d without glasses and from any point of view you would see a different thing) makes me wonder what were they thinking pushing this old 3D tech so much.
yes, it's much cheaper than sharp's technology, yes it's "bad" enough that they can release TVs with TRUE 3D 3 years later but, when the health problem will become well known fact to the public and we will see first effects of it they will be in deep shit.

Parallax barrier (sharp and samsung) glass free 3D doest produce the same depth of effect and doesnt make things stick out of the display. Only phillips glassless TVs works exactly like shutter glasses TV but it cost 10K + and need to have media program specifically for it since it use 4 time the normal resolution. Specialist thinks that, it will be viable as a consumer device in about 10 years. Right now its expensive and on the gaming side we dont have the hardware to push the resolution necessary for real glassless 3D to work.

Do people even realize what bullshit this whole 3D gaming is this gen?

Do you all realize that the PS3 doesn't have the power to handle 3D? You need to render each frame twice, basically running at 120MhZ total, for the 3D that you usee to work. What did KZ2 work at? Oh yeah, about 30. Now imagine if it required twice the resources to render. More so because you'd need it in HD as well.

If you are lucky, you will get games that looks like the worst Wii games in 3D, if you are lucky.

what's the point of buying 3d TVs at the moment - sony already confirmed that there won't be any 3d games on ps3.
some developers already said that 3d is not possible on ps3 without huge sacrifices.
current 3d technology used in TVs causes glaucoma if you watch longer than 2 hours(which means glasses, medicaments, surgical operations and possible blindness).

so once again why would anyone want to buy 3d TV? it's just a fad made by electronic companies to make us buy another TV just when we bought our new LCD with Full HD TV. it was the same with SD TVs, Plasmas, Plasmas with HD Ready, Plasmas with Full HD, LCDs HD Ready and LCDs with Full HD.

Watch out, your post is full of misinformation. Sony already confirm they will release 3D games. Current 3D technology does NOT cause glaucoma lol. I would like to read a paper from a medical association about that, what about posting us the link?

Finally, how can it be a fad? We see in 3D, life is in 3D, its only natural to watch TV in 3D if technologically speaking we are about to do so. 2D has never been a choice over 3D, 2D was chosen only cause of limitation in technology.

Wipeout runs at 1080 @60fps, I am pretty sure that would be fine in 3D . Everyone needs to be quiet about 3D gaming because I think sony is going to surprise us all just how much the PS3 can do, I mean come on wii like 3D gaming, seriously???

No you still need to render each frame only once, because your displaying the exact same frame twice. You display 120 frames but only render 60 that you display twice offset from each other.

Agree with the OP.

And is it me or disolitude (the one who doesn't own a PS3 and enters every PS related thread) works for M$ and trying to convince everyone not to buy a PS3 by posting links to make you buy other things!
Isn't that trolling and spamming at the same time!!! If it not then I don't know what is... >_>

There is a difference between trolling and posting actual information. Do some research on 3D or whatever topic you think I'm posting wrongly about before you acuse me of trolling next time...

3D is a pretty sweet tech...but its no secret that this console gen can not handle 3D gaming.

I hope you do realize I could post hundreads of links that say Sony is bringing 3D games. They havent officially announce titles or release date yet thats true. They only showed footage of games like super stardust, wipeout, gran turismo without ever confirming a release date, that is true. But they have said many times again they are going to release 3D games tho.

Well, post them, then.

This quote on Waron's post is pretty clear to me. I don't think any link you post can overthrow that.
