Do you like complex storylines in your games? You know, plots like what you would find in games like Xenogears, Metal Gear Solid 2, Planescape Torment, the Xenosaga series and so on?

Ahhh i like plot twists... but MGS2 got a little silly. If you mean do i like silly over the top plots then no.
Not really... Deepening characters is good, but twisting plots is kind of lame imo.
sometimes i enjoy watching movies with completely fucked up and/or overly complex plots that make little to no sense.

Yes, Xenogears is one of my favorite games of all time.
Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.
I like stories that don't f*ck with my head, but are complicated and unpredictable enough to keep you wondering what happens next. However, if a complex story means less gameplay than cinematics, then the story better be REALLY damn good. (And the gameplay, as well...)
yes, games like Half-Life have amazing plots. There are tons of questions about whats going on, and what happened that can only be found out by playing.

Yes, but anything can be over the top. Like I love action movies (and games), but some movies and games take it overboard. I like complex plots, but I don't like a sort of "giant space flea from nowhere"*see below* bosses, or a similar storyline effect. So as long as there is proper build-up and/or foreshadowing, cool, anything goes. But, with FF9, the last boss alone was enough for me hate a game I had liked up until that point.
I still need to play Xenogears again.
@Ninpanda,
Right on! Cinematics are cool, but they are getting more and more screen-time in games lately. It's okay if the story is amazing, but if not, just let me play the damn game already!

Actually, at the link, FF9 is mentioned as "one of the most infamous examples" of "giant space flea from nowhere"
Edit: My point with bringing up the "giant space flea from nowhere" thing is I hate when a boss just appears and the boss is important to the story, but it's not properly built up or explained. I hate when the some thing happens with a story (nothing comes to mind specifically though) where the story just takes a strange turn for no other reason than to be a strange, unexpected turn. So complex stories are great, so long as they are fleshed out properly, and not random.
Nope. I used to think they were the future of videogames - all games would have to be like movies.
How wrong I was...
[most] Games needs objectives, not stories. They're giving complex stories to every single game. Except Nintendo, of course. You can make 3000 mario games beating bowser and make all them fun. Try to make 10 games with God Of War for example... Kratos will have to kill Jesus in the 4th game, Buda in the 5th and Alah in the 6th... them in the 7th he'll have to kill Tom Cruise and L. Ron Hubbard! I fear that's the future of the metroid fanchise. At some point (sometimes in the same story/game) it all becomes ridiculous.
But ridiculous but touching stories like Earthbound/Mother and Mario and Luigi or Paper Mario are cool, because in the end there's little to no history, just cool moments and cool characters - and most importantly, lots of gameplay.
Point is, at some point it'll become ridiculous.
