Forums - Nintendo - 1 Week later. A little bit on how DSi XL is BIGGER, BETTER and MORE BADASS

1.) It dwarfs the DS Lite with its bigger Screen - 93% is just a number that doesn't do the machine justice.  Comparing the screens of a DSi XL and the DS Lite is like comparing 90's Arnold Schwarzenegger to Danny Devito.  Or a more VGChartz-centric way, it's like comparing the threads of a certain other Austrian to my threads.  Because of it, eye strain may be felt after going from the DSi XL to the DS Lite.

2.) It has a better battery life than the DSi - Yes, not only will you be playing your DS games on bigger, more vivid screens.  Now you can play for longer than on the vanilla DSi.  You can blame on the bigger shell allowing for a better battery but this is absolute ingenious on Nintendo's part.

3.) 3D games are now more badass than ever - Games such as Spirit Tracks, Nanostray and Metroid Prime: Hunters now look.. dare I say it, BIGGER, BETTER, and MORE BADASS.  Colours are brighter and more vivid, Touch Screen controls are more precise and and 3D models have more detail.  In short, despite recent Nintendo adverts, the DSi XL is not your grandma's DS.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I want one.

Probably gonna have to buy one, I am just a sucker for bigger screens, oh and battery acid too.

i'd rather wait for a 3DS, Nintendo really screwed up the DSi XL launch with announcement, but lucky for me now i don't have to waste money on a -soon to be obsolete- product

still, a bigger screen would've been nice... :/

I got one and I love the bigger screens. The XL quickly became my favourite model.
(I have all 4 and tomorrow I'll lend my DSi to my niece together with her birthday present - Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Picross 3D, so she doesn't have to play her games on her brother's shabby fat model. My sister and her friend already have my original model and the Lite and they can't stop playing Prof. Layton 1+2, though I gave them ~15 different games ).

I'm currently playing Orcs & Elves on the XL and the bigger screens made me order several other RPGs, which I already had considered buying, incl. my first NA DS imports (I want to play games on the XL now which are not out in Europe such as Sands of Destruction, Wizard of Oz, Nostalgia). These imports also made me realize that the NA DS packaging looks much better.

Meanwhile I even came to terms with the color of my XL (I got the brown one), though I still don't really understand why Nintendo didn't release a black model.
