I don't think that's true. I think only the first one was a commercial success. I could be wrong though.

These numbers are box office only and do not include DVD/Blu-ray sales either,  which I am sure were also pretty decent numbers as well.

yea 0_0 I honestly enjoyed the first most....but Extinction should have stayed extinct..it was utterly crappy :S

the movies have not been so good to i do not have high hopes for this one but i will watch it just not in cinema

Actually, Resident Evil (films) are all Sony Picture production so this can be considered to be in the right section.

As for the movie... its very odd, I know that they butchered the story but I don't dislike it.

Part of this is due to my superficial nature (zombie omg!) and part of it is due to my ability to treat this film as a zombie flick rather than an attempt to make resident evil into a movie.
