Forums - PC - Has anyone here downloaded the Unreal Development Kit?

I'm wondering if anyone here on VGChartz has downloaded the Unreal Development Kit. If so, does it come with any graphic assets? 2 friends and myself are looking to develop a PC game (we've already developed a browser game). One of my friends is amazing at coding, but we haven't got a graphics artists of even poor standards. None of us can make graphics at all. We were wondering if the UDK comes with any graphics (and are they decent) that we could make a reasonably simple game with. We'd like to start out with either a racer or an RTS, but we could also design an online-only FPS if the assets with the engine made that relatively simple.

So, does it come with any graphical assets and is it reasonably easy to develop with?

Around the Network

I haven't downloaded it, but I wouldn't expect any graphical assets, and if you don't have any dedicated artists I would suggest that you avoid a 3D game in general

You get the UE3 with UT3, as well as all the assets in that game, textures, models, vehicles, etc. You can use that. As long as you don't try to make money off your creation you won't have to pay anything to Epic.

if you wana develop games with your friend i would advise indie games maybe. you know you pay sub of $99 per year and you can create as many games as you want available for people to download. YOu might actually get some money doing that if your games are good and successful
