Forums - Nintendo - High Voltage: The Conduit got repetitive, TC2 improvements, & more

I will give them respect for making smart comments and trying to learn their craft better, but The Conduit 2 is still a wait to see what others think kind of game after the first one. (Which i did enjoy but got bored quick with it) IT will take a lot to get me to buy another shooter type game( Other than the must have Sin and Punishment) I already have 6 or so and I am not a big shooting fan.

they actually admitted that they screwed up with TC1...but..but, but...but teh wii iz weak, it couldnt have been their fault!!!!

OT: HVS has truly made this game sound promising what with all the new stuff and fixed stuff. im getting closer and closer to actually being very excited over this...now they just need to confirm big heads and sasquatches, then im sold.

I'm being cautiously optimistic about the game, but I applaud them taking responsibility for what happened and what to do about it.

Yea. Banking on a potentially great game is what made a lot of people (me included) very disappointed in the first Conduit. The hype train and PR blurbs really had me going.

This time, I hope the game truly is better, but I would not be surprised if it sucks again. I won't believe it until is see it. Fool me once.......

I still maintain it's the fault of the neglect by other developers. You wouldn't have been all over it had more experienced developers didn't have their heads stuck up you-know-what.

an average person can see that their arm is bleeding. But only someone experienced in medicine can treat it properly.

Just because you can identify a problem doesnt mean you have the experience/knowledge to fix it.

The point is that many game developers who can fix it refuse to identify the problem.

Just because you identify someone has a bleeding arm doesn't mean you have to fix it yourself, but at least you know you have to find a doctor/nurse/paramedic etc.

Similarly HVS doesn't necessarily have to fix all their problems with their existing staff.  There's nothing stopping them, having identified some problems in their previous game, from obtaining outside help i.e. hiring new staff.

True guys. But look at their past games. Their track record shows that they dont make dramatic improvements to their games.

I wanted to love Conduit as much as anybody. But the game didnt deliver. HVS cant deliver.

Adding more stuff to a mediocre base only makes a taller mediocre thing.

"True guys. But look at their past games. Their track record shows that they dont make dramatic improvements to their games."

Their track record otherwise involves licensed games, not games they actually had room to improve on. Those games are supposed to be churned out, not improved and polished.

If you're trying to put them down, at least get the correct factors.
