Forums - Nintendo - Another "Wii brings families together" story

Yes, the title says it all, but this time it was with my family. After the thanksgiving feast (OMG, it was delicious) I powered up the wii to see if Link's Crossbow Training was still at least sort of fun. Then my 15-year-old cousin came to try it out. It was so loud, my uncle had to see what was going on. Soon, he started playing. He said it was fun, but he wanted to bowl. Soon, my Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Brothers, and everyone is having a ball with the wii. One of my aunts is now considering buying one. Has anyone else have a simular story.

Well, this died quickly...

No similar story here.

I buy my children 1 console each just so i don't have to play with the miserable little s*i*s

:D

Similar story, but from around a year ago. We took the Wii to a friends holiday house - one teenage girl & parents. Didn't take long, but everyone was playing WiiSports - and I think it resulted in (yet another) purchase.

One of my cousins brought their Wii (+WiiSports) to our family gathering. My grandma thought it was fun, but didn't really 'get' it. My great aunt loved it and might get her own, all of my aunts and uncles had already played it with mixed reactions, and all the kids spent the night downstairs playing it. This from a family where I am pretty much the only gamer Good times all around, gobblegobble.

Most similar story is that my dad was skeptical when I bought the Wii, but when he got the chance to play, he liked it, so when I moved out, he ended up getting one too.

Edit: Oh, and he takes it to family get-togethers, camping trips, etc, with his side of the family (5 of my aunts and uncles and all their kids and grandkids).

People don't like happy stories they prefer sad stories like 'My PS3 burned down my house and whole Mexico'

LMAO

on the side note, I'm mexican.

My philosophy on this is that everyone has always wanted to partake in video games, but they have always seemed too complicated and confusing to them.

But the Wii has simplified all of this, and now these "non-gamers" feel as if they are playing video games for the first time- and love it.

Plus who wouldn't want to make an ass out of themselves in front of the whole family at thanksgiving.

But on topic- no I do not have a similar story.

p.s. Are you a mexican living in Mexico?

You could have played games with your family on any console.
