85 is a decent score. Problem is this game doesn't attract casual gamers.

That's when hardcore gamers finally buy a Wii for this game.

Famitsu gave it a perfect score, but one must remember, what Japanese journalists find as a "perfect" game is different than North American and European....

Each area has their own tastes.

To be fair though, Famitsu have given an awful lot of 40/40s these past few years.

If by an awuful lot you mean 7 or 8, then yes.

Yes, that is correct.

Their sentiment is more important in this case: if you like the formula, this game will own your life. It's one of those games where the core gameplay trumps values of production, story, features, etc. Kinda like Pokemon in that respect. GTS, abilities, and breeding are all well and good, but ultimately it's that same formula from RBY keeps the game going.

Preordered it yesterday, as well as ordered a Logitech USB keyboard (a kind that i read was supposed to be Wii compatible, though the site i found was from 2007, you'd only figure it could get better). I'm gonna love it.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
