didn't I just make this thread 2 weeks ago?

Definitely.
As enjoyable as ME1 was, ME2 was a much, much more fun, smooth, polished and memorable experience.
As for the OP: I'm with the majority here... he's doing very, very well either relative to ME1 or on its own.
I don't see how any game can have legs right now with so many awesome games released this year
Bayonetta
Mass Effect 2
Heavy Rain
Battlefield 2
GOW 3
FF 13
MLB 2010 The Show
Tatsunoku vs Capcom
No More Heroes 2
Red Steel 2
Bioshock 2
RE 5 Gold Edition
Just Cause 2
Dragon Age Awakening
and many downloadable games
nope, the reason is because the stoy is a bit of a mouthful and overused scenes, even though I love games with epic stories
I just had a look at a naughty site.
Over 2000 are involved in the 360 version. Over 50k!!! for the PC version .
And that's 2 months of after release. If you think ME2 has poor sales look no further than piracy.
I wonder what the cumulative totals are?

Yawn.
The sequel wasn't released in the holidays and the pc version probably stole some sales because people probably thought the sequel would have the technical issues of the original and they thought the pc release wouldn't have as many graphical glitches. Not to mention the pc release was day and date this time.
Couple that with how highly connected it is to the original and you've got the bad legs accounted for as new users would only get the full experience if they played the first. Not to mention sequels in general are more frontloaded because the fanbase from the first will buy it more quickly.
However I think overall it will outsell the original it just wont grow as much as some people expected it too.
People keep forgeting that BioWare has a large fanbase on PCs. Dragon Age Origins sold better on PC than on each console. Mass Effect 2 may not have outsold Xbox version on PC, but it will be atleast 1/2 of it's sales. So ME2 is over 2 mil likely.
MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

$300 for a PC that runs on low settings atleast. The Xbox360 version should be comparable to the lower settings of the PC version, and it defintely loses in gameplay/controls against the PC version. |
Bollox, that's flame bait if ive ever seen it. I bought ME2 on PC and run it on maxed, which really is quite limited. You can't choose anti-aliasing and detail options are minimal. The PC version of ME2 is hurt by being a 360 port, i don't imagine the 360 version would look as bad as low settings though it would be more comprable to medium-high, somewhere in between those two. As you stated ME2 runs better than ME1, and i dare say if you took your home computer and added $300 to it (video card, ram, decent cpu) you would have no probs running this on high
this game has sold enough to be a sucess so the devs should be happy but no one can deny that we thought it would atleast sale over 2.5 mil atleast i did. Uncharted 2 sales were "dissapiontong" according to PATCHER here in america because it got so much praise and reviews were through the roof. wonder what he would say about mass effect 2
