Forums - Sony - Can advertising well really fix your product even it's a substandard one?

Seems the low quality of the XBOX360(Failure rate 23.7%-warranty provider SQUARE TRADE) is worth that one year selling advantage in America for now.Can advertising well really fix your product technical problems??(Search XBOX360 technical problems on GOOGLE)

Microsoft told us advertising is the most important thing in selling products even with substandard product, but does quality really means nothing???No,absolutely no,says PS3.Product quality is very very important too(YLOD-0.05% from talk PlayStation 3 wikipedia),'cause people like quality, that's the true reason why advertising is the most important thing,IMO.

Of course it can, there are tons of crappy software that does the same, the Wii has tonnes of crappy titles that do well just because they're marketed well.

The J man doesnt know is he should bring out the popcorn or feel sorry for you because you used wikipedia as a source.

But to answer the OP seriously , your analogy is incorrect. Yes, advertisements are a reason why a shitty product can sell but that doesnt apply to the 360. What the 360 has going for it is its bigger library of games and not only that it has more quality games than it's competition , pack that with the best online service this gen and it is not hard to see why the 360 sells the way it does.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

He was talking about the fail rate, not overall system quality. Plus 23% failure rate is quite generous considering some of the alternative statistics he could have sourced.

I always took the 56% fail rate as more accurate considering the amount of failures I've heard of and seen.

Media and advertising fix anything and make any brand successful. Just look at MW2 and it's massive hype-machine, contrary to stuff like Batman: Arkham Asylum, which was an amazing game but the advertising was aimed at the mroe hardcore gamers and the mainstream public don't really know much about it compared to games like MW2.
