Forums - General - Tragic case of bullying. Thoughts?

That is so not true. By causing an explosion, it eats up all the oxygen so the fire dies off because it is starved. It's used with oil burns mostly, but yeah, explosions do end fires.

OT:

I have had a give and take relationship with bullies, and it does suck really hard to be on the taking end.

I didn't actually know that. But then again, giving bullies the tools to actually cause a proverbial explosion in this situation doesn't really seem like the best idea, anyway.

I guess the better way of saying it would've been "fighting fire by feeding it" or something.

I was bullied up until about say, 7th or 8th grade. I pulled a knife on a kid who always gave me shit. I was left alone from that point on. Sometimes you gotta fight fire with fire.

Sometimes fire isn't the best solution to fight fire. Have you ever pondered what would have happened if the kid grabbed the knife and used it against you? You never know how anyone would react in a situation like that.

If you don't stand up for yourself, then you will only suffer. The best way to deal with a bully is confront him. You can't go to the schools any more. Telling on someone only makes the issue even worse, you need to fight what believe in.

You're right on the confront your fears part, but going to extremes sometimes can turn against you.

For example, during high school, even though I was a fat kid and used glasses, I was never bullied, mainly because I never let myself get bullied. Whenever I had to confront someone about attitudes against me, I did it face to face, and if shit came to happen, I woud take care of it not going to extremes that would only end up in regret for any part involved.

If this girl stood up in anyway I am sure they would have backed off. The extreme isn't always needed, but sometimes it is.

I completly agree with that. Sometimes the extreme is the only thing people understand.

The thing that annoys me is that in many schools (at least in my country) if you go to the teachers about bullying they both get the people that bully into trouble and the person thats getting bullied.

Its stupid because we don't treat victims like that outside of school.

Not only that, but ecenomically if say 6 or 7 people are bullying 1 person you can't just expel the 7 because thats 7 people gone as opposed to maybe losing one to another school because of the bullying.

the teachers who witnessed the bullying and did nothing should be charged as well. in fact, id rather like to see the justice system come down harder on the teachers. the school is responsible for the safety of the children on their property and the fact that some of these teachers were aware of the abuse this girl was suffering and failed to do anything to stop it, is awful.
