At that link is the first ever trailer for Tomorrow When The War Began.  This is a film based on a novel written by John Marden.  The novel was the first in a series of seven.  They are absolute best sellers here in Australia, adored by most who read them.

The basic premise is that a bunch of teenagers go off into the bush (rural, forested areas) for a week and come back to find Australia has been invaded by an unknown enemy.  It is very real, very gritty, very character based and extremely well written.

The trailer indicates the film will stay very true to the books, and that would be FANTASTIC.

You owe it to yourself to at least watch the trailer.  All it will take is a bunch of Americans and Europeans to watch this movie when it hits (September here in Australia, don't know when in the Northern Hemisphere) and Paramount will instantly fund a few more, if not the entire seven book series.

PLEASE WATCH!!!

Red Dawn, down under style. Nice.

Yeah it looks like a fantastic film.

The books were amazing for their day.

I thought this was going to be a war movie. Looks pretty crappy.

That's what I was thinking.  Also, the video wouldn't load when I tried watching the trailer.

I find it odd that this movie and Red Dawn are releasing within a month or two of each other. Major, epic win!

I just hope that it focuses on the war, and not stupid love stories between the teenagers. I got that retarded Hostel/Teen Romp vibe at the beginning.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

The books generally have a large attack planned, with a whole bunch of war-related stuff going horribly wrong on the way to trying to plan that attack.

It shouldn't be too teenage for anything more than the first half hour or so, and even then, I think it will be well done.

The whole point of the series is that these young adults have to become full adults extremely quickly when Australia is invaded.

So, it like changes into a JRPG with gunblades and stuff and they have to save the world? Sounds neat!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
