Forums - Nintendo - Next Week: Free Wii Sports Resort With New Wii

Not that I don't believe you, is this something you have overheard or do you have a link or something to a press release. Just curious because I can't find this being stated anywhere else right now.

But it would make sense for this to happen, and after all those other WSR bundles we've seen pictures of, I'm surprised this hasn't already been happening and announced.

I'm guessing Nintendo of America will want to wait to release a black Wii + Wii Sports & Resort & M+ bundle until Q3 or 4, to battle Natal/Move. Such a bundle will be massively popular, I'm thinking.

Well i think they might want to do it sooner.  I think most of think, or maybe even confirmed, that Zelda Wii will be Wiimotionplus only.  Great way to ensure numerous people own the motionplus, is to have it packed in with the system.  I think it would be smarter to start having it packed in now, such that when it comes around the time of releasing Zelda, "having motionplus" won't be a concern.  I kinda wish Nintendo would have done this from the beginning to help stronger 3rd party support of the product, but it would be a good idea to help get more mainstream hype for Zelda Wii.

Hm, good point. I think there'll be bundles of Zelda with M+ included anyway, as well as the game by itself, just like with Red Steel 2 now. But the WSR bundle with M+ would indeed be a good way to ensure a big installed base for the device. Ah well, I guess we'll have to wait and see, you just never know with Nintendo.

Damn and I just bought a Wii a couple of months ago.

I saw it announced somewhere...I think in a Best Buy flier, perhaps?

Bah!

Both Wii Sports together, plus two controls and Nunchucks and motion control for $250 would be a good thing to consider, particularly if Microsoft does a price cut.

I dunno, $250 seems expensive, especially considering the bundle you're describing is already available here in Europe for 199 euros (minus the extra Remote and Nunchuk, it's a black Wii/Remote/M+/Nunchuk/Sports/Sports Resort). If anything, I expect the US to get the exact same bundle at $199.
