Forums - Nintendo - To Many Must Buys In Short Time Frame For Nintendo Wii

2010 is certainly a beastly year for the Wii. But it looks like the second half of the year won't be AS crowded.

All we know for the second half of the year is Samurai Warriors 3 in the fall (for US), NBA Jam in the fall, Epic Mickey sometime in September, and Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes sometime in the 2nd half.

Then there are a bunch of maybes like Xenoblade, Last Story, Zelda Wii, Pikmin 3 and maybe a Japanese import game or two.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

If I'd had the time to play all those games, I would buy them. That's the only reason I ended up not buying Fragile Dream (something I feel bad about) - I still need to finish (or in some cases, at least to advance further) in Silent Hill:Shattered Memories (great game!), Metroid Trilogy, NSMBWii and several other games.

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

Metroid Other M for me! Hopefully Zelda hits this year as well.

Sin & Punishment 2 and Arc Rise Fantasia I'll be getting as soon as possible. I think I'll wait a bit before grabbing Galaxy 2 and Monster Hunter, i know they'll be around for a long time so there's no rush (unless i just can't bear the wait). Still unsure whether i should get Samurai Warriors 3 or not. Red Steel 2 and Fragile Dreams aren't for me. I think I'll leave Metroid to a friend of mine, he's very enthusiastic about that.

None of this takes Xenoblade or The Last Story into account. Fortunately it doesn't seem like they'll be released too close to the others, but i will drop everything to first day purchase both of those games. Same goes for Zelda.

Does anyone have a good guess on when Xeno and TLS may be released?

How technical is your game?

Not too bad of a scenario for me. The only game i'll have to put off buying is Sin and Punishment, which works out okay since it's likely to be short as hell anyway

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Everywhere I have looked just says TBA for both of them

I'm still working through Wii releases I want to play from 2006-2009, it will be a while before I get to games that come out this year.

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

Bolded: Both games are supposedly very close to being done and will release in Japan by the summer probably. Whether they release in the west though is a different question. Nintendo could do a quick localization and they could be out around the same time they release in Japan, or they could wait and release them in the fall/winter. Or they could make us wait till next year.

Yea, I think that is easily the shortest of the main 4 I posted on. But, it is also very high for me on must buy.  Anyways, a good game is a good game whenever you buy it.

I will hope for fall or winter myself. No need to rush anything out the door. Just makes higher chances for mistakes. Although that might put them against Zelda which would be a huge mistake too
