...and you could travel back to ancient Greece to show the people there the God of War Games

(i skip the part where first you'd have to explain a lot to them, lets just assume they would finally understand you are NOT a God, it is a game and a interpretation of their Mythology)

Do you think they would like it?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Would they? i'm not so sure about that.

Greek Mythology is not set in Stone, there are different versions of many Stories, it is also full of Wars and violent Deaths. Apart from The religious aspects it was also a means to entertain People, and i think Kratos would have fit in there quite well.

...they would give up all their gods and pray to Kratos instead. The only problem would be that Greece would rule the world by today then, since Kratos let them to victory.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Infact you would have a very hard time to explain them what you actually show them.

I doubt they would be able to understand what computer generated graphics are. The problem is that you couldnt explain them what this is. A Screen you could explain like a magic mirror. And you would have to lie about the game. You could say its a mirror and you can watch a greek god through it.

They probably would have difficulties to order the things they see on the screen in the right category. Like numbers and kratos weapons.

First they would be totally amazed just of the looks maybe you could explain them that this is just a world generated from the people of your time and shows what they think of the greeks.
And you are here to ask if they like what they see.

And I think they would love it. The brutality is nothing special for them also the would probably see first time the things they imagined. That kratos kills other gods would probably change their whole mythology. I doubt you would be able to make them clear this isnt real they wouldnt believe you in the end because they saw it with their own eyes. They would interpret it as a challenge from god to test their beliefs and if they wsould listen to your words they would fail and burn in hades or whatever definetly you wouldnt be able to influence their thoughts in the direction you want. This would be so extraordinary that you would change the whole history. And if you say ok lets say they greeks wouldnt be like this and they would know this and would accept this, then they wouldnt be the greeks from the past but completly other persons.

In the end they would honour kratos as the biggest of all gods because he killed all the other ones and they would beginn to spread the word all over the world and build statues and temples and write books about him. This would probably strengthen the greek mythology and maybe you would come back and see that everybody prays to kratos instead to god.

They would'mt understand anything & they would probably kill you for being a black magician.

shame on you OP for entertaining such heathen thoughts!

And proud of it.

OT: i don't think they wouldn't understand if you explained to them, at least to the right people. The Ancient Greeks weren't Idiots.

On the other hand people where running away from that train that came towards the screen of one of the first movie

so maybe you are right, and it would be too overwhelming for them. now lets say, i write down the story of "God Of War" in ancient Greek and let them read it, could they accept it as part of their mythology?

The real "Gods" never existed.
