Jan 2007, $599, died Dec 2008.

Refurb received in Jan 2009 has had no problems.

A bit misleading though. The original unit did 6 months of 24/7 Folding that inlcuded a North Carolina summer. Close to 5,000 hours running at 100% load. Probably around 7,000 hours of total run time, maybe even more.

The refurb has maybe between 100-200 hours of total run time; almost unused.

I got a Gamestop refurb 60 GB on February 23, 2010, but it freezes on me pretty consistently.  I was ablle to finally watch two BR movies back to back last inght after lightly blowing the dust out of the unit, but it still hung on the menu screen after the movie was over and restarting it afterward still leads to a glitched out XMB and freezing.  I really want to keep it though so I might just bite the bullet and have Sony fix it.  I dont want a Slim.

i got it for christmas 2007...payed 399€ for Console + 2 Controllers + MotorStorm & F1 and its still working great!

got it for $500 at walmart. had it since aug/2007.

Yeah I am a survivor. But as each day passes, I become more afraid that it will go die on me.

I bought it summer 2007, in August. I paid $1,323 or NOK 8000 (Norwegian Kroners). It's very expensive!

Try to vacuum it. It will help. I had some freezing problems long ago and vacuuming sorted it.

29th of May 2007

Console = £425 Bundle I got = £515

Had absolutely no problems with it whatsoever apart from the clock problem back on March 1st 2010 which wasn't really a problem for me, it has showed absolutely no issues at all.

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

- i got it on lauch day

- it cost me £425, i also brought a hd tv to go with it which cost me £600 was a bit pricey but i knew it would be worth it in the end and it is!

- no it hasnt broke yet and hasnt shown any signs that it is dying either. but i am getting scared that it could possibly die any time now because of all the stories you hear, so i went out and brought a 250gb external hardrive and backup all my data every week now. I'd be gutted if i lost my save games after all the hours you put into finishing them, especailly RPGs

Add me if you want but let me know youre from this website

Bought mine around August 2007, £580 with 4 games and an extra controller which seems incredibly expensive now but it was worth it. It hasn't broke at all, nor has it shown any signs of being on its last legs. I've since purchases a slim so the original is in the bedroom and gets occasional but still reduced usage as a PS1/2 and blu ray player.
