Actually they're fiscal year projection isn't looking so hot right now. You need to subtract the 2.3 million in the pipeline at the end of last FY. I really doubt there's more than 2 million units out there right now unless they fixed their production issues and put out an absolutely massive shipment this week.

supply isn't supposed to improve until the summer. However, because they made the 2011fy prediction recently, it means that despite the massive supply shortage, and excitement of the slim being gone, ps3 will sell even more this year.

that's pretty amazing! seems like if supply was a bit better for the FF and GoW launches it could have beat that 13M but a pretty decent margin too. who saw that coming last year when they predicted 13M. no one, the answer is no one.

It doesn't matter that it was before the Slim actually released, because Sony knew they WERE going to release it. It was a very good projection and shows they had a sensible view of how well their project would do.

Glad we agree on Sony's good forecasting for the Slim, then.

Most of that 13 million happened after the price cut and the Slim launch.

clearly we can see why there are shortages

usually sony would have to sell 12 million to have "shipped" 13 million

but they are closet o selling 13 million.....so shortages are occuring

its outperformed SONY's expectations.
