Hm, I'm sure para is useful but since lancers focus on damage it would probably be better to use a Fire based lance or a Dragon if you can get your hands on one.

The problem with para on a lance is that SnS does it better, then again I hardly use lance so maybe somethings changed?

para lance is good if you have blue or high green weapon to charge with for high para build up when the chance presents itself, and it builds much faster than SnS if you charge the right spots.

Any tips for Lagarius? I Tried him twice now, Longsword and Great Swords, and both times I ran out of time... I just can get enough quality hits in... help.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

A just bought a switch axe in the online store, is the weapon any good? I used it an awful lot in the demo, but now im finding that the multiple attack (rising slash, then attack and you end up swinging it back and forth) technique doesnt do a lot of damage.

I really prioritize spped, would any of you recommend the long sword?

I like the longsword for resource hunting. I can take it out with me, and some supplies and take out a Great Jaggi, Qurapeco, R. Ludroth in about 30 minutes. It is fast and effienct on those. I also used it to repel Lagarius, but I can kill him w/ it. Trying different things here.

Longsword is pretty good againt Barroth too. You take off his tail, then get under his legs and he cant hit you.

hmm, I never use switch axe.. however I see that there is one that I have access to that does 810 damage, and does para damage.... That might be what I am looking for here.

I use it on Great Baggi to practice, he is quick, so it will help me aim better, but not very deadly so I can last awhile if I suck with the Switch Axe.

It is called the Assault Axe+
I may need to kill Gobal Again for a compont.

You have to be in sword mode for the Para to kick in with that weapon, which is fine since sword mode does more damage anyways.

Lol, wow killed offline great jaggi in 4 hits, that was cool... but sad.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Try the lance. I rape him with a paralyzing lance i got. I don't even get to consume my First-Aids; bring some traps too.

is anyone else here a sword and shield user or is it just me? most people have moved to other weapons but im still better with the sns than anything else

@woopah, its just not powerful enough. I know you can upgrade, and i know there are tons of different SaS's available, even this early in the game, but the hammer just destroys it. Its also pretty quick to use.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
