Just killed barroth. very long and hard battle, closest I've ever been to running out of time in a quest.

Thx for the tip about Barroths beserk and mud routsounmanman.

Yay! No problem, man.

PS: I just fought a Barroth online with another guy, and we got our asses kicked just when he had about 1/10 health remaining. Farewell HR9...

me and my party  just did that quest with no deaths, i can help you get to HR9 tommorow if you want?

did have one major fuckup though, when it was charging we managed to get it in a pitfall trap. everyone ran in and we laid  7 large bombs. we then all ran in opposite directions untill we realised no one had place a time bomb! i ran back and  put  one down. but just as i do so the barroth breaks free and runs off, there is a HUGE explosion which does no damage to him whatsoever. we got him in the end tho

2* quests are looking sweet

Has anyone else noticed that they censored the word "after". When you type it, it comes out as *****

I found that hilarious and confusing :p

Again, how am I supposed to catch a Qurupeco? It's already hard enough to get him into the trap and not some other monster and then there's still the issue that it's perhaps still too strong to be caught. Monsters seem to regain health just from switching areas, could this be?

Also, setting the trap when it's limping away is impossible because it takes several seconds to set the trap. Killing monsters is easier than catching them!

Qurupeco regains health  when he does his healing dance.

he will clap his wings while hopping form side to side. he'll then sing and be surrounded by green light and then spin around. once he spins he heals himself. if the light is red instead green then he is getting an attack buff. if you deal enough damage to his read throat whilst he is singing  you can steal his heal/buff which is awesome. you can also use a sonic bomb to stop him singing.

in regards to trapping, dont try and set the trap in front of him. instead  set  the trap and stand on the oppositie side to him. he should run into the trap as he is trying to attack you. one thats happened through 2 tranq bombs at him and he's yours. once he is limping he's definately weak enough to be caught

Exactly, that's why you get better spoils when catching a monster compared to killing it.

Do I need to have wii speak to hear others use it?

I HATE the great jaggis

All I want to do is get some herbs and items to upgrade my armor
Only to run in to those darn things. And I have to run away from them
Nice......

Also at times there are 2 of them. How can I fight that? I barely can beat one.....

Did the HR 30 Shen Mohran mission, weirdest fight ever, honestly.

hope you knew that you could mine on top of that thing, just saying, and there are multiple harvesting spots after you kill him, start running to him right as he dies and aim for his left side since those are the 2 closest skinning spots together, wanna get as many parts as you can.

dahuman, yea I did the run 3 times last night 1 failed but the other 2 were cake walks, we did mine it, but honestly I'll just get to HR 40 and if I feel like mining it I'll help others HR 30 do it to 31.

They probably should split the 30 server to Hr 50 and HR 30.

The first server is getting packed also.
