5 - The new battle system is by far my favorite part of the game. It gives you that turnbased feeling with a taste of strategy and action. The AI is pretty decent, but damnit I wish I could set up buff/debuffing orders.....
4 - Im fine with these. Towns have no other purpose but to look pretty. Id rather have more gameplay and environmental focus than towns anyday. The lack of a map does not bother me at all. It is actually very refreshing.
3 -This is my second favorite part of the game. The problem with a welldrawn NON LINEAR story, is you sometimes forget what you are doing. It is like reading a novel and halfway through you put it down and start reading another. Give that a few days and you find yourself lost (story wise and place wise). I play multiple games at a time and I appreciate Final Fantasy pushing you on the story, so I do not get lost.
2 - Very much liked his character. He seemed the most realistic of them all. Did he make the game for me tho? Not really, but he was definitely one of the brighter spots.
1 - Maybe. I guess only time will tell. While going to a broader audience is fine and very good thing, did it actually effect the series as much as it should have? I do not know but it is good to see that sales are doing great on both systems. If FFVXIII goes multiplat, we will have our answer.
FFXIII is my favorite post PS1 FF game. 6 and 9 are still my favorites.
So A+ CGI.
