So The Wife is going to Washington D.C. this weekend and I'm left home alone for the weekend.  That means I get to go into recluse mode and play games until Sunday night when she gets home. 

So what should I play?

• God of War 2 - I finished God of War a few days ago and started God of War 2.  I can keep going so if I feel like playing God of War 3 I can play it whenever I'm ready.  I didn't not like God of War but I also didn't think it was the most fantastic thing ever.  My worry here is no matter how good the game is I would be easily burnt out since I just finished God of War (similar to what happened with Mass Effect 1 after playing Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and then going to Mass Effect and doing a complete playthrough.  I never want to touch that damn game again).
• Batman: Arkham Asylum - I started the game, got about an hour into it, liked it, and then put it down.  About as simple as that.
• Bioshock 2 - I actually hadn't planned on buying this game anytime soon but The Wife bought it for me because she liked the music in Bioshock.  This is probably one of the few games I can play while she's in the room since she likes the music.
• Deadly Premonition - I got pissed off at this game last go around but I'm willing to give it another try.
• Gears of War 2 - It occurred to me a few days ago that I got to the last or next to last mission and never actually finished the game.  Hopefully I'm not too rusty so I can just continue where I left off and finish the game.  The downside to this is that if I'm not as far along as I think I am and it takes a little longer, I might finish the game and not be in the mood to start another.
• Mass Effect 2 - This would be my second playthough coming off my complete paragon playthrough of Mass Effect.  Additionally, I hear there's a bunch of new content just released so that's a plus.  The downside to this is that a playthrough would take much longer than a weekend.

The choice here is obvious.

back on topic, I think you should start with deadly premonition and when you can't take any more, finish gears of war, beat a mission in ME2 and mine some planets as well, and then back to deadly premonition.
Finally, when it get's dark out, throw in god of war 2. Play AA the next day if you need a break from gow2.

You know, for all the shit I give God of War it wasn't as bad as I remember it. I still think Kratos is fairly lame but at least the game was fun for the most part. There were parts I wanted to throw my PS3 through the window (I wanted to murder someone after that damn spike room puzzle) but I had fun and glad I made myself finish it.

Playing many different games at once is an idea, but I don't know if it's good for me because it encourages me to get back into the habit of starting games and then moving onto someone else before I'm finished. Weekends like this are golden opportunities for me to finish games. >_>
