Well it is very possible now because, lets say the DSi stays around $150 because they are still selling

you bring in a fancy new shiny more capable handheld that costs $50-100 more and  people will buy.

I know I would.

I am WEEzY. You can suck my Nintendo loving BALLS!

Hopefully they price it around $180 or less. I think that would be a reasonable price for something like this. $200 or more and you're in Wii territory which should never happen, unless 3DS has insane horsepower.

Possible $250, you say?....I don´t think so, this is Nintendo we´re talking about...$250 for a handheld system is way too much for them to charge consumers.

I agree with this. Anything over 200 Dollars/Euros would be unthinkable for a Nintendo handheld, imo. Nintendo have always priced their products at levels that are appealing to consumers, and seeing how kids and young people make up a big, big portion of their userbase, they won't want to risk alienating those with 'adult' price levels. If anything, they've taken hints from Sony's arrogance at the beginning of this gen. No matter how insanely popular and successful you are at the moment, that doesn't mean consumers will blindly follow you and purchase your products if they're deemed too expensive. And $/€200+ is too expensive.

Also, it might depend on how well DSi XL does. 'Cos that one's pricey, too. For a Nintendo handheld, that is. If that proves to be a big fat hit, they may price the 3DS similarly (179-199 Dollars/Euros). Sure, the machine's bound to be kind of expensive, what with all the tech it's supposed to boast, and at the same time, Nintendo want to make a profit (and they will, they always do). So... it might end up costing close to 200 bucks. Although imo that seems rather expensive. Who knows, Nintendo might surprise us all and announce a $/€149 pricepoint. I'd be happy.

Also, you can get a Wii for 179 Euros here, so I doubt they'll release a handheld at a higher price.

So from what I am seeing and hearing the "3DS" is gonna be a very powerful handheld

I would not be suprised if the price range is hovering around $200-$250 while still keeping the DSi/lyte around for $100-150

Just means more money for Nintendo because both will sell CRAZY well

You know, cuz the kiddies can continue playing with the DSi, while the grown ups now have a very powerful, more capable machine(3DS) to play with :)

Damn! Nintendo is just gonna be dominating for atleast another 10+ years.. I am talking dominating like they are right now.

Like, no one is even in thier sights. Like, no one can even see Nintendo right now. They are litterally in another galaxy.

This is Nintendo's anthem for this generation

when has nintendo not dominated the handhelds? They are pretty much what saved them in the ps1 and ps2 days.

Both Gamecube and N64 made profit for Nintendo. Albeit not even close to the profits they're making now or the profits of their handhelds.

By saved I don't just mean making most of their money I meant keeping them in more households.

You're back.

You're crazy if you think they'll continue producing the current generation of DS if they start selling 3DS in good numbers

Well, they will probably produce the current generation of DS because the cost for the 3DS will be high at launch, consumers who want to play DS games paying for a cheap handheld will probably buy a normal DS, so if the consumer complain about the price he will buy a DSi anyway and upgrade to the 3DS next year. I believe the DSi will survive for a long time (maybe 1 or 2 more years) and there will be more DS/DSi games for the next 2 years because of the big installed base, just take a look at the PS2.
