I agree with this. Anything over 200 Dollars/Euros would be unthinkable for a Nintendo handheld, imo. Nintendo have always priced their products at levels that are appealing to consumers, and seeing how kids and young people make up a big, big portion of their userbase, they won't want to risk alienating those with 'adult' price levels. If anything, they've taken hints from Sony's arrogance at the beginning of this gen. No matter how insanely popular and successful you are at the moment, that doesn't mean consumers will blindly follow you and purchase your products if they're deemed too expensive. And $/€200+ is too expensive.
Also, it might depend on how well DSi XL does. 'Cos that one's pricey, too. For a Nintendo handheld, that is. If that proves to be a big fat hit, they may price the 3DS similarly (179-199 Dollars/Euros). Sure, the machine's bound to be kind of expensive, what with all the tech it's supposed to boast, and at the same time, Nintendo want to make a profit (and they will, they always do). So... it might end up costing close to 200 bucks. Although imo that seems rather expensive. Who knows, Nintendo might surprise us all and announce a $/€149 pricepoint. I'd be happy.
Also, you can get a Wii for 179 Euros here, so I doubt they'll release a handheld at a higher price.
