that sucks, I wonder though if this is going to hurt them in the long term? Theres been two huge releases for the PS3 in the past couple weeks and they don't have systems to sell. I wonder if some casual consumers will lose interest and pick up a Wii or 360 instead since they're both easier to get ahold of at the moment.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:
If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

Exactly. Is there a "break point" (number of weeks) where "the numbers will go back up one stock comes back" goes to "the ceiling has been lowered from this"? Or will the ceiling always be flexible due to stock?
I really wonder if anyone at Sony is feeling the heat off these shortages.
