Forums - Gaming - Is Nintendo now the name people most associate most with videogames?

no playstation is. Maybe if they ahve 2 more consoles dominating for about 10 years combined playstation usage may decrease but anyone here calls video games playstation. so if i havea xbox i tell him i havea xbox which is something like a playstation but mroe fun cause if i told them its somethign like nintendo they would say wtf are you talking about.

Around the Network

In their own rights , right now PLaystatioon is just barely winning out.....with the growing success of the wii however that could change and I can see the Wii being the name asssociated with gaming , even more so than Playstation and Nintendo , because of the simplicity of the name.

But the biggest name in gaming, Mario, which just about the whole world knows about, even more so than Playstation and Nintendo in their own rights.........is ultimately associated with Nintendo so Nintendo would win that.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

I still say Nintendo, even when I mean Xbox or Playstation. I've seen it the other way around, though. Even the President said, "Turn off the Xbox."

I assumed he was talking to me so, I turned off the Xbox. I later turned it back on.

you must be a republican.

Actually, wouldn't that make him a Democrat. As the current president is a Democrat and all his legions of followers believe and do everything he says?

Well, I highlighted how he turned it back on....he went against the president for his own personal gain. Sounds republican to me!

Then that makes him a turncoat or a BlueDog Democrat. So, if he were Republican he would not have listened at all and would never have turned it on.

I defer to you, raistline. Bluedog does seem to be a more appropriate title.

If I were having this discussion 1.5 years ago, I would not even know about Bluedog Dem's. It is scary how fast one can get wrapped up in politcs. But I digress, let's get back on topic.

Nintendo always has and always will be the primary video game association phrase since NES firs spawned and became popular.

I just woke up and logged in.  What just happened, here?

Anyhoo, my job has a written "No Gameboys allowed" policy.  That's exactly what it says.  That's why we all play PSP's, i-pods, iphones, and Nintendo DS systems!  We're not breaking the rules!!
