Forums - Sony - So I got a PSP now.....

The price was good on this one, and I thought "Oh why not, the Sony defender force had good things to say about it, I'll give it a try!"

The thing I wanna say is, WTF? Why are there so few games that actually take advantage of the 3D capabilities of this device!?!?!? I can literally count the games I want to play or is playing atm with one hand! I sure as hell am not going to play shooters on the thing!

So I thought, I'll just browse for some JRPGs since I'm kind of a JRPG whore, and most of them are remakes with DS graphics ><; (I don't do remakes of games I've played before btw, well, unless there is like a PS3 FF6 or 7) and a game that I liked a lot but played on the GBA! =O

I really like how the thing looks and feels though(black PSP-3001,) it's mega slick and hurts my feelings when I put finger prints on it so I've already ordered protective cases for it.

So while I can't say that I'm a "proud" owner of PSP, I uh... own one now =_=; KHBS is summer right? Gonna try to stretch each game out for as long as I can, which I'm sure I won't have a problem with since I got other systems and games, currently on Crisis Core =).

You actually listened to the SDF? You fail!
I suggest you get FFT: Wotl

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

isn't that just the ps1 game with some added stuff though?

The mistake you made was that you bought a console (a great console, in my opinion, but my opinion doesn't effect how much fun YOU are having, does it?) without making sure that it had games that you wanted to play. That's why I didn't get a 360 until 2007, a Wii until mid 2007, and a PS3 until 2008. No matter how capable a console is, it all comes down to games.

But now that you have it, look at some of the features that it has: You can download games like FF7 and Metal Gear from the PSN. You can download comicbooks (my favorite feature), you can download music, and you can download movies. It can also store your pictures, has internet radio, Skype, and remote play with your PS3. It's a good piece of hardware. Let some of those features occupy your time.

As for graphics, say what you will. Those games are graphically the best you're going to find. You say that they have DS graphics, but if they're the best that are on the market then your only option is to make your own games....... But, there are a few gems that are graphically impressive like Jeanne D'Arc. Youtube a few that interest you, and demo a few games, too. You'll be surprised how many games that you weren't interested in may grab your attention. If I weren't so wrapped up in FF7 (AGAIN) and comic books, I'd be downloading Syphon Filter, Secret Agent Clank, and Resistance Retribution, right now!

Or, you could just return it. You just bought it. Take it back if you aren't happy.

One feature I do find neat is the remote play actually, because I do have original PSX games(and that includes MGS -_^) that I can just tether to my PS3 with from my iPhone, most of those features I just use my iPhone for already so you can see why I'd be using it for games mainly, and I do find that the games I'm currently playing to be good enough to own a system for, I just wish the selection was mega big, like you know, that other portable device that's also really popular that's sitting in my car hidden atm (PSP is next to my bed.) Besides. I love how it looks, so I can't return it now.

I also really really wish that they'd put remote play feature into FF13....... how fucking cool would that be? but it won't happen sigh....

I'm thinking about Patapon, Half Minute Hero, and LocoRoco, already have GoW, Dissidia, Crisis Core, that Megaman game, and managed to get my hands on PSU2 which is a pretty cool game.

Just make sure you get one of those screen protector/cover things, so you don't get scratches and stuff on the screen.

I know what you mean about the selection of games on the system. I have a "spirit green" PSP 3000 and I only have 4 games for the system. 3 of them are re-makes; Castlevania Chronicles(PCE:CD game), Persona(PS1) and Persona 3 Portable(PS2), and the other (Pop'n Music Portable) would have been better if they had made it a PS2 game instead...

I need to get back to playing P3P again since my gf distracted me from it by getting me DQVI on the DS.

Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

The Phantasy Star Portable games are pretty good 3D JRPGs. Have you tried any of those?
