I guess it can't be, because I'm not really into JRPGs but I LOVE VC.

That's not what I mean. JRPG = KH, FF, Tales, etc. Japanese styled (meaning it's like a JRPG but it's not made in Japan) would be like Secret of Evermore and I'd say Demon's Soul is kinda Western RPG styled.

Oh, ok then. That makes perfect sense :D

Yes ,because the main character acts like a girl.

Also yes, because despite being fun the story is annoyingly Asian.

SRPG but it can also be seen as JRPG to a lot of people.

SRPG are not really RPG in my mind... has noting to do with JRPG or even WRPG (or PCRPG as I prefer to call them))

They are more akin to PC strategy games, as you control actual troups (think total war or starcraft or even civilisation).

^^^I'm not sure if a lot of people in this thread have even seen Valkyria Chronicles.

This is what you do:
-You choose your snipers, scouts, shock troopers, tanks, mechanics, and heavy weapon useres (Lancers).
-You place these units on to a battlefield and battle against another army of similar units.
-You try to either over run the enemies base or kill all of the enemies.
-You do it all again.
-You use the money earned in battle to buy better equipment and train your soldiers

That's it.

Yes it is a JRPG.....Its Japanese and an RPG thats really all the criteria according to the very definition of the term JRPG. Is it the best labelling system? No....I think an RPG is an RPG regardless.....Bioshock 2 is vastly different from Call of Duty yet they are both shooters. Even though Demons Souls has gameplay that traditionally follows a WRPG style it is still a JRPG and so is Valkyria Chronicles
