Forums - Microsoft - What if Microsoft shows a motion controller at E3?

By motion controller I mean a wiimote & nunchuk like Sony did with ps move...

Rumors pointing towards a cheaper slim, adding the cost of Natal ~80$(?) and a "wiimote and nunchuk" ~70$(?) could make it a bundle as much expensive as a PS3 + PSeye + PS Move or even cheaper.

And it would completely destroy Sony because PSeye is pretty much old tech compared to Natal.

Very unlikely but this would be Sony's worst nightmare. Thoughts?

I think u r reaching.....

Microsoft have stated that their goal is to achieve gaming with no controller at all.

Besides, why would Microsoft eliminate a potential advantage over their rival (price)?

Now tell me, how come you're raging all over Sony for announcing the Move, but now you're wanting Microsoft to develop a motion controller to beat Sony's controller?

I smell hypocrisy here.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I am just debating an idea. If Sony came up with a rip off this easily Microsoft could come up with one too. They've been too quiet about motion wands.

eh old sony tec but being used very well don't forget

You wanna have your opinion, then you have to respect different opinions as well.

It would destroy the idea behind Natal, and then they would look like real copycats... so no, that will NEVER happen

Ho boy...dude, does it really matter if they copied the design of the controller? If engadget's ps move exclusive tech demoes don't show how the technology is different than the Wii's, I don't know what will.

If Microsoft do announce a controller, they've gone back on their words, and Natal's image would probably be ruined. Simple. Now stop worrying so much over Sony and Microsoft entering motion control world.

@ huaxiong

We're not discussing here whether or not Sony copied. We discussed that to death in the forums and theres like 3 or 4 guys in all the community that keep saying it is not a rip off. Peace and respect, it's their and your opinion, ok. That was discussed. Let's not go offtopic.

And it wouldn't be much to microsoft to take back their words, they did it about motion control when they decided to embrace a motion tracking camera.

So now taking back the "controller free" line wouldn't be that bad. This allying the fact that said controller would be optional, there could be games controlled via Natal only of course.

Well you know that Natal is seen more like an Eye Toy 2.0 than something "new". I don't see it like that but it seems many people do.

Same for hipotetical microsoft wiimote-esque motion controllers.

Sony did theirs, microsoft could come up with it too, the meltdown would be the same as Sony copying Nintendo and they take now the embarrassment of doing that next gen, and at the same time they beat Sony at their own copycat game.

It doesn't sound that crazy at all....

Honestly I can't say, at best I think they might release a split controller to free the arms so you can do Natal + Controller at once.

Tease.
