It's the only one I've played this gen, and I loved it precisely becaus it's not your standard JRPG. The BLiTZ system is brilliant as a turn based gameplay mechanic. I want to see more of it outside the Valkyria universe as well as more games based inside it.

Overall best graphics of the gen for me so far too. Sure technically others have better graphics, but the overal visual aesthetic of VC is superior to anything else I've seen, for me.

However I am dead keen on playing Demon's Souls (another JRPG that isn't the stereotypical JRPG) and this has the potential to become the best for me. As for the more claisscal JRPGs I'll get to FFXIII at some point I think, other than that I'm not sure what else will get on my radar.

The J is more for stylistic elements, the S is for the mechanics of the game, so both are right in my view. It's a JSRPG, as opposed to a WSRPG (if there are any).

no, I can't agree with your statement at all

They weren't.  SRPG has ALWAYS been a very distinct and VERY divided genre.  They're my favorite genre... believe me, I know.

It's a real time strategy third person shooter squad based Role playing game.......I think..... :(

ok here in german press it was always titled as a jrpg as far as I remember

the future will have more and more games that have a little sth. of almost every genre, so people will either erupt in genre wars even more than now or give it up

to me personally jrpgs are rpgs from japan - a strategic/tactical one just as much an action one (imho it's funny that the "genre purists" think of japanese action rpgs as jrpgs) - western style japanese rpgs are nothing like wrpgs and japanese style western rpgs nothing like jrpgs to me
