That big guy was pretty much bashing the move throughout the whole tech demo.

I thought it looked great, can't wait to get it.

I didn't watch the whole show, but I thought that pretty much everyone was just trying to find ways to make fun of it.  I mean, seriously, moving behind the TV and camera and asking if it's still working?  How stupid are these guys?  I thought these guys wrote for a tech blog...I also think that Richard Marks (the Sony guy who was sitting down) was getting annoyed by some of the asinine comments they were making.

All in all, I wasn't terribly impressed by the Move demos.  Maybe once they show some real games with compelling gameplay that isn't a rip-off of the Wiimote, I'll be more interested.

I'm sure Richard Marks would love that one as well.

Let's face it, none of the GAMES shown at GDC did anything different from the Wiimote.  Maybe Move is more precise, but if it is, no one is making a big deal out of it.  Maybe it has less lag, but again, they haven't shown it yet.  The only thing different from the Wiimote is the augmented reality.  Stuff like Move Party.  Cool stuff, but sorry, I'm just not that interested in it.  Laying down pictures in 3D space?  Interesting GUI demo, but where's the application to gaming?  Where is GT5 with a headtracking demo?  It's been semi-confirmed (or maybe confirmed now?) and no one has seen it yet.  Where is an RTS controlled with the Move?  This isn't something that the Wiimote can't do, but it's also something no one has really tried yet.

So I'm just curious, where are the games that are going to set Move apart from the Wiimote?

And to be fair, I'm not a big fan of any motion controller.  Wiimote doesn't do it for me.  Most people probably already know that I'm very skeptical of Natal.  And so far, nothing about Move has impressed me all that much.  Like I've been saying with Natal, show me the games.

@ bobologna )

in that case you could've just quit the stream after they said that they'll be showing tech demos

new games probably will be shown at E3 or that Sony convention and not at some internet-stream-show

I wasn't bashing the show or anything, I was just talking about the general state of motion controllers right now.  I'm actually really hyped for this year's E3, because I think both Natal and Move will be there in full force.  And I'm really, really curious to see what developer's are doing with these devices.

let me know when it's on youtube. I missed it.

how was this not different from the wiimote. The stuff they showed here was amazing.

yeah and i like how the camera can detect your movement too.
Feels like move is a mixture of Eyetoy , Natal and Wii.
Thats awesome xD
