I really wanted this game until I played the demo, Not having Night Vision goggles really sucks, I can not believe they took that away, I don't like the sonar, you really can not tell where the walls are, Screen tearing, there was so much screen tearing it was crazy, Also the demo froze on my 3 times, it seems the game may be very buggy, just all the moves are like 1 button pressed, they took alll the real excitment away , now its all sequenced action, you just press a button and watch the computer do everything, Graphics are just OK, I have not seen a graphic wow game on 360 since GEARS of War in my opinion. I am just really disoppointed, I really wanted this game, and I don't like the direction they have gone with the franchise.

The Bad

  • Ubisoft’s decision to ditch the trademark night vision goggles for sonar vision was annoying. I didn’t like the fact that sonar vision showed where everyone was located even through walls and buildings.

Um, perhaps theres a reason for this. You know Sam Fisher doesn't work for the government anymore and has no help? When you got everyone against you you need the best tools in the business to survive. Sonar Googles is a must for the new Rogue Fisher.

It's just that simple.

I really enjoyed it, some of the controls bugged me, the graphics were fine IMO. 1st day buy still.

I like the game after playing the demo very, very much- until now, the best game for me this year.

But why it isn't possible to hide dead enemys anymore?:(

I didn't know there was sonar goggles.
Will have to try the demo again. The sticky camera is fun.

I watched my cuz play the demo and I have to say it looks pretty fun.

I am 60% done of the d/l for this demo now. From what i saw thus far in trailers, it looks good.

But this is my first time ever playing a Splinter Cell game. Is there much of backlog story to this? Or Would i be fine playing this without having played any other games in the series?

The franchise was dead after Double Agent. I wish I could go into Montreal, start kicking all their papers and computers off the desk and go

They had everything. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. And look at this gen.

Assassin's Creed?

Splinter Cell: Double Agent (current gen)?

Prince of Persia?

Dissapointment after dissapointment.

They take one of the most GAR characters and put him in the most cliche story line, and I really don't know how they're going to involve the government in Sarah's death. They'll have to pull something ridiculous to do that. Look what the fuck they did to Grim? Really? Grim was a funny, witty, young, tech geek, and now she's like: "Mother fucker, I can kick ass too yo".

The cool thing about Sam was that he wasn't like any other video game character. He was old, but never complained. He suffered, but he would endure. He was dark and sadistic, but also a patriot and hero.

I understand that losing your daughter is something that'll break a man, but why the fuck did they have to go to such extreme and cliche lengths to bring in more character to Sam Fisher? They perfectly had everything with Chaos Theory. Douglas Shetland, Sam's best friend, felt betrayed by the government, and went rogue in a insane plan to fix everything (start WWIII and hopefully something better will come out). If they wanted to go with the theme of the government becomming corrupt, they could have perfectly had a similar plot without the unnecessary drama.

They could show the old virtues of America (Sam) becoming lost with a new America (government). Sam Fisher at this point is fucking done. He's at the edge of human capacity for active duty, and he can't take any more strain on his body. But he fights through all the conspiracies and hardship, because he has his daughter waiting (future of America/hope). Simple. They could have had the government take hostage of Sarah or something (more symbolism and dramatic hostage scene in the end), IDK, just don't fucking kill her and have Sam screaming constantly now.

The controls were the only thing that pissed me off.

I never really could get into Splinter Cell games. I found them sort of frustrating. I guess I don't have the patience for it? Though I can sit and play slow games for hours...Can never quite put my finger on it.

So I loaded up the demo, thinking, "This time it'll be different." No more totally brain dead enemies. No more conveniently loctaed explodables, More natural. Less contrived.

Guess not. *shrug* It's a good thing, really. My backlog is too big as it is.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?
