To be honest though, I've found a lot of women can't tell the difference between arrogance and confidence, so you're good either way really.

The first cycle fooled me as a black wiimote. Even the distance between the hands is almost the same -_-
Shame Sony, shame.

oh cry me a river....you keep posting these type of posts as if SOny stole your car or something...I have yet to see a single positive post from you on the Sony section
ok here is a deal....I'll accept Sony was at least somewhat copying the control scheme as in one for the right hand one for the left hand thing but you have to admit that from what he have seen the Move is way way superior in tech with doing things the wii can't even imagine of doing....
Now don't start with the oh nonono they copied it all...they got into this later...wii was so uber awesome successful...so why did they follow suit if not for copying yada yada.....I mean these are multi million dollar corporates!!!! It's like asking Verizon mobile to NOT come up with their own touch screen phone to rival the iphone......What next? Wii get into HD (WHICH they definitely will and they have to someday soon imo) so they will be copying Sony and MS? Oh please...it's rather foolsih to even say that
For me, IF Move comes up with a solid line of games I like, I'll buy it and so far I'm very impressed with it...heck IF Natal shows me some games that wow me I'll buy myself an Xbox for certain...cuz for me what's important is not whining oh this guy started this, oh no this guy did the same thing only better etc etc what's important are the GAMES!

Are we back to Sony hitting self destruct with their arrogant PR campaigns again, the next few months is going to be hilarious. Someone should put Tretton and Greenburg in a room together, the bullshit from both could power a shuttle to the sun and back.
Wow i didn't know that the eye toy was so advanced for its time. Maybe Natal won't be anything special...

Oh no, the problem isn't that they copied its that noone will admit that they copied. If people just said "Yes we know the Wiimote and Move is just a copy of the Wiimote, its Sony's version" then there would be no problems, people would move on and you wouldn't have every discussion of the Move devolve into a Wiimote copy thread. The fact that Sony mocked the Wiimote and Wii on several occasions doesn't help either, and I suspect had they not the whole hooha about this wouldn't have been as great.
Tease.

"If you look at the adoption rate of the DS over the first 17 months, not only does it trail the PSP but it also trails their other platforms ... They're potentially losing some of their core audience and they're not really expanding beyond that." - oh dear. “We are in the first 25 per cent to 30 per cent of this generation. I would say we're sitting in the catbird seat. And if you like what you see right and if you thought last year was the year of the PlayStation, I hope that in 2015 somebody is going to be saying, ‘This is the Year of the PlayStation 3.’ - Jan 2010. - staggering arrogance or stupidity - I'm not sure. |
1. Yes, here he was reallyy dumb.
2. As an excuse for him, while PSP turned meh with time, it's still the best competitor, as sales results, Nintendo portables ever had, and it started quite well, so he wasn't so wrong to be confident. (This doesn't change my opinion that I found the controls of the first PSP awful and the current ones barely acceptable and I wouldn't ever watch movies on a micro screen, so for me a PSP, particularly the first model, would have been an overpriced multimedia player with games as a badly usable bonus, but 57M people like it, so much the better for them and Sony).
3. Even with a 10yrs plan he's a little bit underestimating how much time of this gen already passed. But hoping 2015 will be the year of PS3 is not excessively confident, actually it could even be read as that PS3 could dominate this gen when Wii has already retired.
About last year being PS3 year, well, it is on a lesser scale, simply in the sense that it's the year when Sony finally got most things right or at least acceptable for it. Not as elegant as Nintendo's regal aloofment, but neither Greenberg's arrogance, actually it was very mild PR. This time he was quite heavier, he should leave these things to Kevin Butler, but even his least elegant digs are better than Greenberg's. As an excuse for Greenberg, he most probably follows Ballmer's bombastic examples.
