Technically yes, that is true,  but in ost games there is at the very least a cop to benefit the town.  Being a small game, that may be all we get.

I point you to look at the link I posted above.  Games can be played without a cop.  Maybe just a doctor, or no power roles at all.  This game, I think both exist though.

Damn, that post would roll to another page. Instead it should read:

"Look at the link on the previous page."

One investigation does not help the town out, even if he found scum.  There is nothing that says this game will have a doctor,  we have to assume that we dont to be safe.   If he comes forward with one investigation, and dies the following night, we are in no better of shape then if we just luckily guessed a lynchee.   Getting multiple investigations in is what we need,  that way at least he can give us info on multiple people,  and it improves our chances of lynching the right person.

One investigation does help the town.  One investigation could be the difference in the game.  What doesn't help us is the cop taking it to his grave.  Yes, we would be in the same shape with a lucky guess, but lucky guesses are rare, while a guilty investigation is a sure thing.

You say there is no reason to assume there is a doctor.  There is no reason to assume there is a cop either.

To both of you:

  • There are no crazy sanities in this game.
  • The game is a Vanilla game, so it means all the people are either Townie, Cop, Doctor or Mafia

This is a vanilla game, so it's fairly safe to assume that there is one cop, one doctor, some mafia, and some townies.

Vanilla games can be played with only mafia and townies.  Or with a cop, or a doctor, or both.  Take a look at the C9 setup here.

Zexen's statement doesn't necessarily imply that each of those roles exist in this game (although like you, I think they do).  It means that no other roles exist.

I was just applying Vetteman's logic about the doctor to the cop.

Yes they can. However, I do think that the roles are in this game, as every other vanilla game we've had on this site has included them.

I wanted to point that out simply because you two mentioned that there is no reason to assume there is a doctor or cop. I think that there is reason to assume there is, as that is how every other vanilla game on here has been played.

Either way, I don't like Vetteman's plan myself as it is a bit risky for the town.

Im sorry if I havent posted enough, I got homework to do. Im going to read the rest of the thread now.

As I said, I also think both those roles exist in this game.  I was just pointing out the inconsistency of Vetteman's logic.  He assumes there is a cop, but at the same time is worried there is no doctor.

I think a Day Two no lynch is a bad idea.  I also think the cop keeping guilty investigations to himself is a bad idea.  All this is starting to add up to look anti-town.

He only voted no lynch because he feels the chance of a lynch happening is unlikely. (Mafia probability - 65%)

What would the point of voting for someone when there arent enough proof???

Also, as it was needed for 5 people to vote for the same person in order to get lynched, do you really think that the remaining players who didnt vote would vote for the same guy??? (take in count that before me, 4 players already voted.

With this post, the edit you made on one of your posts and voting for someone and not saying why you voted for him, you seem suspicious.

As for my day to no lynch,  it was an idea thats all.   I understood the risks of the plan.

One guilty investigation doesnt win this game we need to know the alignment of a few people to help us pick through the rest.

Well there shouldnt be one for at least one more day, I would hope anyway.  We have only gotten one vote for someone,  and that one was from our erratic player of the game.

Hmmm, Thursday night sounds ok?
