electricity companies that still supply microsoft with electricity. Please stop the PR crap!

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""

DLC

DRM

DD praise.

Developers attitude towards PC

Blizzard not leaving Activision to die.

The constant smear campaigns against Nintendo (Analysts etc)

Games relying less on gamplay and more on story/visuals

Games losing their soul

Game developers wanting the used games market gone.

Third parties thinking they are gods (this was a problem in the two previous gens as well)

Sonic 4 embracing business practices that I hate (DD, episodic content) Will still get it though because it's supposed to be a true Sonic game.

Nintendo not giving me an epic fantasy action game with 1:1 motion controls.

Lucasarts not announcing a 1:1 lightsaber game.

Motion controls being this far into the gen and still not fulfilling its true potential

JRPGs taking the wrong direction.

The good MMO games requiring monthly fees.

The epic wall/citadel mechanic gone in Battle for Middle Earth 2.

Less RTS games being made.

No (good) dinosaur games.

Me having less time for games.

There's a lot of things I hate about this gen.

All the red, YES. The first 2 reds are so closely tied too.

The green gets a runner-up for me =) I don't hate it, but I wish things could be better for each situation (wasn't sure how to word that and include all of them =P)

Now I know what you're thinking, my definition of fad must be wrong because the Wii obviously wasn't just a fad. Well the definition of fad is "a temporary fashion, notion, manner of conduct, etc., esp. one followed enthusiastically by a group." It gives absolutely no time frame for what counts as a fad. So even if it lasts a full generation or two of video game consoles I still think it'll be considered a fad in the end.

So by your own definition Christianity, Hinduism, etc are all fads. Fascinating.

- DLC
- DRM gone wild
- Obnoxious fanboys

Games that get massively overhyped and i mean MASSIVELY, and then they turn out to be utter crap. I see that mostly on FPS(yea im talking about you Mw2). Other than that i hate ALL FANBOYS, Graphics whores, Trophy/Achievement whores, reviewers/reviews,Mw2,Mw2,Mw2. Did i mention Mw2? You guys have no idea how much i hate that game. Dont know why i even got it. Only game this gen i regret buying(yea i know) this gen. Next to buying 3 360s(RROD), buying that game has been he biggest waste of money i have ever made.

Wow I love how you tried to turn a simple post about motion controls to something about religion. If flaming was allowed on this site I'd call you a fucking idiot, but since I'm not allowed to call people fucking idiots, I won't call you a fucking idiot. Seriously get a life. If you disagree with me then say you disagree and you love motion controls, don't go around slanting people's words.

Pop a midol and calm down tough guy. I was just saying there's a problem with your definition of "fad"; by removing the time limit and keeping "manner of conduct" I was pointing out that the definition is far too broad. Hell, speaking English or being of a particular nationality technically falls under your definition of 'fad'.

My thoughts on motion controls are that they're a somewhat primitive intermediate step towards the next level of interactive entertainment, so no I'm not chugging the motion control Kool Aid. Nice personal attack, though.

It's fine and dandy to hate motion controls, but your bizzare definition redefining to such an extreme degree is a pretty desperate attempt to denigrate what all 3 console makers have accepted as the new direction of gaming.

I didn't slant anything, your definition is terribad.
