Just a question,

My TV is an LCD HD Ready - Samsung with HDMI and my resolution is 720 + 1080i but not 1080p.

What the fuck is the diffrence between 1080i and 1080p?

Getting a LED Full HD Samsung in June, but im just curious what the diffrence is. Do you notice it?
Also are there really any games that is 1080p? KZ2/Uncharted 2/GoW 3/GT5 are all 720 are they not? (But they still look best on my decent TV lol).

Whats with the xbox games being sub HD lately? Its kinda depressing. Put more work into the games. :\

Meh, the game looks fine for an Xbox 360 exclusive, IMO, so it really depends on the gameplay.

Haven't downloaded the demo yet.

I bought an HD console tho. Not a "SubHD" console. :P

Then just skip the "SubHD" games and once again, you have an HD console on your hands.

Trust me; this really works. It's amazing.

1080i is interlaced, meaning when the horizontal resolution lines are scanned, they are only generated in alternate rows per refresh cycle.

In short, it's half the resolution of 1080p being generated per refresh cycle in alternate rows (odd then even) and interpolated into a full picture on a non-CRT display that doesn't "paint" scanned lines of resolution to generate a picture.

1080p is progressive scan, meaning odd and even scan lines are generated simultaneously for a full 1080 lines of resolution per refresh cycle.

1080i is typically the way that 1280x720 or 1366x768 display a 1080p signal depending on the display. Some will simply downscale it to 1280x720.

Visually, as 1080i only has half the image data as 1080p, the picture will not look pixel for pixel sharp as a native 1080p signal displayed on a native 1920x1080 display. It's most noticeable for text or any high contrast type images.

Essentially, you're losing visual data from a 1080p source by downscaling it.

So will we see a Wii port soon? Just joking. The game looks great TBH, not the best looking of all as some where saying on this site at one point ( looking at you Selnor) but never the less its a great looking game. And best of all it looks like the gameplay will be amazing Its about time they turned around the series after the disapointment DA was :|

I don't like the series as a whole so I don't talk of the game and gameplay and such usually
BUT I was expecting they would go all out on this game? Easily one of the most promising games on the xbox exclusive line up this year so I personally think that's just ..just...wrong
I know gfx isn't everything and that gameplay is important, but gfx helps, especially for a stealth game that has a good focus on the atmosphere
Let's just hope they improve it before release, fans deserve it I would say, this is not 2006
