But reading the latest comments, I don't think this is a masterpiece. At least, it may not be worth the full price (around 55$ here in Quebec).
Well, still have to finish everything in Endless Ocean. Plus, Calling is fun and I still have a few chapters before it's over. And, out of nowhere, I bought Little King's Story at a very low price. It should keep me occupied for a while. Maybe my need for Fragile will go away. |
Well here's the thing, though I may be wrong (no way to tell until I play this myself), looking back at all reviews I read including player reviews, it seems to me pretty clear now who likes this sgame and who is disappointed. Look at Rol's take, I will bold what I see as the critical sections:
"Combat is basic, level up and weapon system is basic, level design and pacing are quite bad at times and climbing ladders is annoying because it's slow and there are so many of them. Bosses are finished off (too) quickly, overall the game is pretty easy. Once completed there is no reason to play the game again unless you intend to find the items you missed on your first playthrough. In the end it comes down to this: If you like Japanese design and an emotional story..."
What interests me in this game (and, or so it seems to me, the people who end up enjoying this game) is not the combat, it's the atmosphere, story and exploration. So, if you are lookng for the combat, level up system, weapon system, pacing and bosses, this is not for you.
