Forums - Sales - So Final Fantasy XIII's western launch is less than Bad Company 2's launch?

I'm not discussing worldwide, so don't pretend this makes this moot, especially since I'm not calling FFXIII a flop (most certainly is not).

Are you including the second week? If so, the thread title clearly states this is the launch week.

It says launch, which could range from the first day, week, or month. I was going with month, but now that you've clarified what you meant I understand.

Yeah, with this site, it's the first week.

If the OP decides to take this as sold to consumers then I would like the OP to also believe in Square-enix's statement that FF13 is the "fastest selling FF to date int he west" (something he clearly disputed in his last sentence in the OP).

You can't take one company's statement to mean "sold" & the others to mean shipped.

Well, Japan has a lot to do with FF being a big blockbuster franchise. In Japan alone on PS3 alone, FFXIII sold 1.5 million first week compared to 1.2 million worldwide for Bad Company 2 on a userbase more than 10 times as large.

It was already established that number is including two weeks, not shipped versus sold.

That still isn't relevant to this thread.

The thread title clearly says "Western sales".

@Lord of the knight of the night of the knight

ok I was just making sure your being fair.

Also regarding Square-enix's statement

they revealed that they shipped 3 million to the western territories around 1 week ago

now a week or so later they claimed "FF13 is the fastest selling title in  the series in the west"

Now it seems to me that they got sales reports before they issued the second statement.

What are you even trying to argue here? That FF isn't as big in the west as it used to be? We don't have any numbers to support that. So what is the point of this thread?
