Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo publishing Samurai Warriors 3.... a bad sign?

I get the distinct reason Nintendo is publishing this game in North America is just based on the fact Koei wasn't going to because they thought it wasn't going to sell.

I mean, this isn't like DQ where it was announced during development... this game is already out in Japan.

I think it's because they don't want Koei to feel too burnt by developing a relatively big Wii exclusive. Honestly it'd better if Koei just sucked it up and accepted their own responsibility for the matter.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

isn't koei now temco Koei, including team ninja that developped Metroid M? if so, there is an incling of positive partnership there...

Nintendo cannot win.

If it does not reach out to third parties -- some people complain that it does not care.
If it reaches out to third parties -- it is thought to be doing too much for others.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

They're probably just publishing it to improve relations.

It's pretty sad that Nintendo needs to take matters into their own hands, just to get 3rd party support out there.

People expect TOO much of Nintendo. No matter what action they take, people complain!

They've been handling publishing duties for a few third parties since the beginning of the gen. Tecmo, Atlus and Hudson have all had titles published by Nintendo. Soon Capcom will have a large title published by Nintendo (MH3). This is preferable to just throwing money at them, which seeds an unjust expectation to do so again in the future.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

Of course, any action one of the big company's take, someone will always think it's the wrong thing to do. That's life.

I just think it's a very different thing when it's announced after the games been released in one region vs, early on in the process.
