imo sim fans will prefer 60fps, great online features and great physics over better graphics

it was understood that gt5 had better screenshots since years now, i would have prefered another criteria than that in this vs.

Please don't tell me you're trying to imply that FM3 does the mentioned features better than GT5.

it's pretty obvious i do think so, if you have elements proving otherwise feel free to share

GT5: Prologue ran at 60 frames per second. Safe to assume it'll be the same case with GT5.

GT5 will be the first game in the Gran Turismo franchise to include both mechanical and external damage modeling, including a real-time deformation engine that will process model deformation according to the speed and angle of impact. Also, the impressions of the physics engine displayed from the GT: Time Trial academy have generally been positive.

that doesnt say in the whole racing history but in the gran turismo franchise and i think forza already have thos features as i get fucked if i crash a car in forza 3 with sim damage on but its very funny and fun whne me and my friend choose land rover and crash it into each other. Btw i heard that forza has the most realistic physics in any racing game that has been released to date thats what i think my impression was from insidesimracing

My point wasn't who did it first. My point is who will do it better. And we can't decide that yet.

Thing is, he's talking as if GT5 already released. But him mentioning 60 fps shows he has no clue what he's talking about.

@Blue: During Forza's release that is. I don't think they mentioned anything about the GT: Academy Time Trial, which released afterwards.

for some reason this sentance reminds me of the crysis 2 trailer which people where saying how amazing it was because they wrote the features and most graphically advanced ps3/360 games have the things crysis 2 was baosting about. we cant decide yet which has better physics or damage modelling, have to wait for game to be released and dont be like those ediots when they see something named crysis nad see a video (which isnt really somehting consoles havent achieved) and start saying how it looks like its impossible on consoles and all that bullshit i dont know why but that amount of idiotic thinking jsut pisses me off.

I know what you're saying, but there's a difference:

We have screenshots available here, and as such, we can compare graphics, even if they aren't finalized for GT5.

Physics, on the other hand, does NOT show with screenshots, you have to play the game for yourself to decide that.

not only the claim doesn't extend outside the GT franchise but it doesn't concern the impact on the driving itself, and those are the physics that matter to a racing fan

I know :)

GT5 for the win, the devil lies in the detail, that is why GT5 will always come out on top as they do pay that little more attention to everything...something that I and many others appreciate.

I already answered that, fyi. Or did you not read the part about the GT: Academy?

Like I said, the fact that you even tried to argue about the 60 fps shows you're clueless on Gran Turismo.

The upcoming Gran Turismo 5 has been long awaited and heavily debated as the best full service racer in the field.  Known for it’s great attention to the smallest details Gran Turismo 5 is slated to be the number one selling racing game of all time.  Microsoft’s answer to the Gran Turismo series, Forza 3 isn’t too shabby themselves when it comes down to the little things that make a racer authentic.  Here are some screenshots to compare.  All images show Forza on top and Gran Turismo below, or do they?  We mixed up a couple to see if you could tell the difference.

What say you reader?  Does Forza stack up to Gran Turismo 5?  Did you have any problem determining which screenshots were from what game?

I'll say

1st one gt5 on bottom

2nd gt5 on top

3rd gt5 on bottom

4th gt5 on top

5th gt5 on bottom

Number 3 is right, on every other pic you're wrong. Belive me, played ab out 30 hours Forza 3 ;)

they both look amazing, but gt5 takes the lead when it comes to visuals, to be expected though, next gen the cars are really gonna be real lol

Both games are looking great.
