My current plans are to build the following team:
1. Typhlosion. Starter, covers fire element, and can learn Cut.
2. Noctowl. It can learn a good array of psychic attacks, and can learn Fly and other flying moves. Potentially replaced by Lugia later on, who covers the same bases
3. Quagsire. The fun water type that's also my solution to electric types, and will get the better 2 Water HMs (Surf and Waterfall)
4. Machamp. Earliest fighting type available in the game, should be invaluable for Whitney and elite 4 Karen Plus he can learn strength and rock smash (i think)
5. Spiritomb. The elite without weakness and bane of all psychic types.
6. Abomasnow. Ice covers grass and dragon, while grass to beat water.
Should be pretty good. All i'd be missing would be rock climb, whirlpool, and flash from the basic setup, and those are more limited-need anyway. Should also cover me against most elemental possibilities, especially the ones that are more prominent in this game.
