freedom fighters, beyond good and evil (very good game, that one) not sure if Tourest trophy toped a mill but if not then YES YES YES, riding a duke around the nurinburg(?).

That game was and still is boss, a sequal on the PS360 with todays online multiplayer capabilities with the bunker mode would be mega aswesome.

When I look at these games... Is there any JRPG, that don´t start with "Final Fantasy", or "Kingdom Hearts", that sold at least million?

Nearly all my favourite games are here!.

You also like Mana Khemia and Ar Tonelico? How is it that we're not closer friends?

Just remembered: Disgaea 1 & 2. BRILLIANT HUMOR.

Mana Khemia 2 and Ar Tonelico 2 are awesome game

Japanese Pop Culture Otaku

Suikoden III and Zone of Enders 2.

The rest of my favorites pretty much passed a Million. Easily.

That's because JRPG games do not sell well here. There's just something with the format of how they are made (and the animeish look) that turns people off.

And they rarely ever get advertised.

Moreso the fact that they never get advertised.

Compare these two games for US Sales:

Dragon Ball Budokai - 2.04 Million

Dragon Quest VIII - 0.60 Million

Both games have the exact same character design, cel shaded style and cater to similar markets.  In fact, Dragon Quest appeals to even broader markets, hitting on a much more general market than your typical JRPG and more than just the typical Anime fan.  But the fact remains, it should have been a simple matter for them to slap a simple sticker on the box that said 'from the creators of Dragon Ball and Chrono Trigger' and it could have sold like candy.  Not to mention advertised it on TV in a similar fashion.  Yet why did Dragon Quest VIII, one of the higher budget games from the PS2, only sell 600,000 units, while Dragon Ball Budokai sold over 2 MILLION?  The simple difference in advertising.

Uh...yeah.  And how do you think Dragon Ball got that big?  Through advertising on TV.  It was the same with Pokemon.  You think Pokemon sold 11 million copies of the first game purely by chance?  No, they pounded America with mass marketing and hype, through the use of commercials, promotions, magazine ads and hyping their own cartoon show.  The same way Dragon Ball did it.

Dragon Quest has done next to nothing in the way of marketing.  And as such, has hardly any sales to show for it.

I'm just confirming the statement that JRPGs are hardly advertised here in America.  Even one as big as Dragon Quest (SquareEnix second biggest seller).

I think ICO only shipped 900k worldwide whereas SOTC passed by a bit according to some shipped figures from SCEJ. ICO with such low sales is a sin.

Odin Sphere
Persona 3 / 4
Okami
Z.O.E. 2
Suikoden III
Xenosaga Ep. 1
SMT III: Nocturne

Looking forward to: FF Versus XIII / LBP2 / The Last Guardian / Yakuza 4 / ICO Collection
