OP: Visuals and macho badassness is what God of war always did best. the game looks badass when looking at youtube vids alone, I can imagine playing it is even more awesome.

GOW1 had lower metacrtic than Resident Evil 4 and it still won most of the GOTY awards in 2005...

Actually, Shadow of the Colossus won the "big one", which was the GDC Awards.

You may not remember, but Resident Evil 4 wasn't even in the running for the AIAS award because Capcom wasn't a member of that group.
