Forums - Microsoft - We owe Bungie an apology....

I personally am in the camp that for the 2 million COD users on 360 that are in that game constantly, $15 is not overpaying at all. They will easily get a few dozen hours on those maps - a bargain if you compare it to $10 DLC story expansions of a couple hours. For others? Not worth it. So then don't buy it. *shrug*

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

That's pointless to bring up. What game has good value comparitively to the Orange Box?

That's the entire point! What game doesn't appear like good value for money put side by side such expensive DLC? You shold always compare to your own wallet and preferences. What is the game worth to you?

Value is a hard thing to judge. The Orange Box is probably one of the best values (for the price at release) recently. There are PLENTY of good games that can't compare to the value of The Orange Box, so it's almost unfair to compare ODST to TOB. That's comparing something that Halo haters regards as an awful value with something that's regarded as an amazing value. It would be put into better perspective to compare the value with something regarded as a good value, but not something at the top.

Well, it's moot anyways. Most console games have little to no value compared to PC games. Essentially though, PC gamers tend to judge value based on time-investment. So I value D2 and SC and WC3 (Dota) and WoW for the 1000s of hours of play I've gotten from them. Or the ~600 hours I put into Morrowind and Oblivion. Console games that take 20 hours just don't compare to me. But console gamers tend to judge the quality of the gaming experience as true value. That's why a franchise like Uncharted can be regarded as a great value. There are plenty of people that don't play the multiplayer who feel that way, and for what? 10 hours of play? For $60?

Value is far to difficult to judge since people have different perceptions of value.

There's no way there are 2 million people playing COD games at any given time.

Ehh, it is a bit unfair to the people who already bought the expansion packs. But the SP was certainly better than 2 and 3. Firefight mode is fun too.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Lots of non 360 (but ps3) owners saying its not worth it.
In their expert opinion.
And the 360 boards aren't trolled.

I own a 360 and I think the game was an insult to consumers buddy, settle down even 360 owners who love there system have problems with Microsofts actions.

Well I'd say your opinion has to be taken with a huge pile of salt here.  A simple search of your gamertag shows that you've never even played Halo ODST's campaign or firefight modes so how could you really be able to judge the content properly by any means?  Furthermore, you've played barely 200 games of Halo 3 and never achieved a rank higher than 6.  When the meat of this game is extending halo 3 online entertainment and giving halo fans a new story, I for one find the price point to be just fine for the amounts of content.

I didn't mean at the same time - - - >  I just meant people that have played 50 hours+ of multiplayer.  Heavy users.  Not concurrent users.

There was around 2 million playing around the release of MW2.  It was discussed on a Major Nelson podcast.

Thats cool brother, but if you read my posts you will know I am a huge fan of Coop. My brother who owns a 360 wanted the achievment points for his account "Oily Sausage" and I played Coop with him and beat it and loved it. I don't care about achievement points and he does so nice detective work , but I am not lieing.  I played as one of his several goofball accounts that are no longer on live.

IF you realy care that much look up "OIly Sausage". I only give my opinion on games I have played. Notice on my tag it Shows Halo ODST, but with no pionts.

PEACE

...for criticizing the price of ODST. Now before you bash this thread read my points and tell me you don't agree. For $60 you get:

1. Brand new campaign (on the somewhat short side 6-8 hrs but up to 10 hrs with exploration) Hated the Campaign

2. Firefight mode (all new multiplayer mode similar to Gears of War's Horde) Very laggy for online and also hated it

3. Every Map Pack released for Halo 3 (total of 24 multiplayer maps) Already owned 21 of the maps for halo 3 and the 3 more they added sucked.

4. Halo 3 multiplayer (for new 360 owners who haven't purchased Halo 3 yet this is huge..you can play Halo 3 online without buying it) Already Owned halo 3

4. Access to Halo:Reach Beta (arguably worth $60 itself) This i agree with you exceot not worth $60 maybe $10 max.

...and Activision owes us an explanation.  For $15 you get:

1. 5 multiplayer maps (2 of which are on MW1)

So honestly ODST is not such a bad deal after seeing how Activision wants to rip us off on this new map pack.

I still think ODST was a rip off. Granted i didnt like the campaign or firefight mode but still in no way shape or form was it worth $60 for 3 shitty maps and the halo reach beta. I think Bungie owes me an Apology for releasing this poor excuse for a halo game.

You sure you're a halo fan? The campaign was better than Halo 3's in my opinion and the opinions of many of my friends. I thought it had an awesome dark and gritty feeling to it and bringing back the pistol from CE was clutch.

Dont question my halo fan status. I probably play halo ALOT more than you do and i could get some people on this forum to vouch for me. I and many other BIG halo fans i know absolutely hated the ODST campaign. And if you owned halo 3 and all the previous map packs and didnt like the campaign or firefight there was little left to like. Thus i feel that ODST was a poor package worth nowhere near $60.

Long Live SHIO!

I got it for 30, and it was worth every penny, lol I sold my Halo 3 disc, and just finished playing ODST's campaign again for the 4th time yesterday.
