Forums - Nintendo - Bethesda's Wii game ?

Somebody knows something about this game ? It was supposed to be announced last year. Maybe it is being kept for E3, so that it can be announced alongside The Last Story, Xenoblade and Zelda Wii for the West. It's gonna be hell of a lineup, isn't it ?

It's not clear, but this might have been the game that the Bethesda exec was talking about:

Pro-tip: When it comes to third-party Wii games, it's best not to get one's hopes up.

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event."  — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing

I've heard conflicting things. I remember hearing once that a Bethesda guy had said "it isn't wheelspin," and then one that said "it totally is wheelspin," and that since wheelspin ended up a tremendous failure both critically and commercially, Bethesda hasn't said a damn thing either way.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I highly doubt that Wheelspin is the game in question. Bethesda just published the game, they did not develop it.

Even if it is not Wheelspin, I totally agree with famousringo's "pro-tip" (When it comes to third-party Wii games, it's best not to get one's hopes up). Especially since the same exec said it will be something that fits the Wii, or something like that. Such statements don't bode well.

Time to give up on that, honestly. I'd love to see it happen, but it's just not gonna.

The poster with the viper avatar (game journalist) said that they were indeed making one and it wasn't Wheelspin, but it's all some time ago now...

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I had a feeling someone would ask about this after seeing the new Bethseda game. I wanted to make a thread about it, but decided against it.

Bethseda's Wii game was in fact Wheelspin. If it wasn't I'm sure we would have heard something about their 'new' title within the 6 months after Wheelspin's EU release. The game was a joke on Wii owners and possibly the console's WORST TITLE EVER. Don't believe me?

"You might as well chuck your money down the drain instead. At least you'll be able to control where it's going.

  Handling is beyond a joke
  Graphics are abysmal
  Atrocious physics
  Illogical respawn points
  Horribly generic soundtrack"

It was pretty much a slap and a spit in the face.

"Overall, though, Wheelspin is scarily close to being a complete failure. There's so little here of worth that someone must have known the project would end in disaster. It's a game that comes across as an impressive university project rather than a retail released Wii game, failing to impress in all the areas that really matter." -Videogamer.com

i thought it was Mideval Games?

^ I don't think it was Wheelspin. Viper came through with his Modern Warfare thing in the end, I'm guessing the Bethesda Wii game at least existed at one time but may now have been scrapped (since it hasn't been announced after they said "we might announce something soon").
