Wonder if it's this :/

They did say they had multiple games in development, but this wouldn't make sense because is Xxtremely anticipated which refers to something we already know about.

This shouldn't be in Nintendo discussion...

No, but looking at L5's track record, it's probably going to be on a Nintendo system.

Why do you say Nintendo system and not DS? They haven't released a single Wii game so far, and it's like some of you hope that it is a Wii game.

When it comes to current support it's pretty much this

DS->PS3->PSP->Wii

I said "Nintendo system" in response to this thread being in the "Nintendo forum".  And at this point, their homegrown Wii and PS3 support is equal (ie: nothing), which is only slightly ahead of their PSP support (1 game coming, 1 on hold seemingly forever).  It's more like 95% DS, 5% PSP, 0% Wii/PS3 right now.

Why is this a nintendo thread?

There's a thread in the gaming forum too.

Level-5 seems to favor Nintendo, all their selfpublished games have been on DS so far.

now you know thats BS, They self publish DS games because they can afford too, Level 5 isnt a giant company like SE or Capcom the cant make huge games and publish and market them thats too much, which is why when big games come along they work with a publisher which always is SONY if your trying to infer that they have a bigger relationship with Nintendo( never directly work with) than SONY( every project Except there DS games) your outta your mind. Plus them publishing there own title suggest that have weaker relationship.... Why isnt Nintendo publishing there games but SONY and even MS during the ill fated True Fantasy paid for/published/ and marketed there L5 games?

Afford to?  Level-5 is rolling in profits, they have 2 new million+ seller IPs already this generation (with a virtually guaranteed 3rd coming soon), they've expanded hugely, they opened a mocap studio, they're investing in film and animation, they started a new mobile platform, they're opening American and European subsidiaries soon... L5 might not be as big as SE or Capcom, but at the rate they're going they soon will be. They're not limited to DS in the least, they went there because (1) it's the overwhelming market leader and (2) they're not stupid.  Smarty navigating and building their brands on DS is exactly why L5 is as successful as they are today.  And honestly, that probably wouldn't have happened on any other system.

And yes, these days they're far, far closer to Nintendo, thanks to the sweetheart deal Layton has in the west.  Layton 1 alone has already outsold all their SCE funded games combined. They've done more games on DS than all the PlayStations combined too.  When it comes to partnerships today for Level-5, it's Square Enix > Nintendo >>> SCE.

I wouldn't say 0% Wii/PS3...PS3 has WKC2 and possibly another game coming and Wii has Inazuma Eleven Break and most likely Ninokuni coming. Edit: and DQ X.

I meant their own games with "home grown", not purely contracted games like WKC or DQ.

And while we do know for a fact they do have their own Wii and PS3 projects in the pipe, nothing's official yet.

They're just hired help for WKC.  It's not them doing what they want, it's them doing a job.  I don't think "smart" or "not smart" really applies, it's more beside the point.

For support that's (literally) not paid for it's still DS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PSP > Wii / PS3 when it comes to Level-5.  DS is their priority, PSP's an afterthought, PS3 & Wii are still on the backburner.

Hino was deeply involved in DQVIII and DQIX's plot too, not to mention their battle systems, world design, dungeon layouts, etc.  Level-5 certainly does more than just "dirty work" when it comes to DQ, even if they have Armor Project looking over their shoulders and Toriyama doing character designs.  You're really diminishing their contributions there.

And I'm not saying L5 isn't instrumental to games like Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, Jeanne d'Arc or White Knight Chronicles, they made those games from the ground up.  Those games wouldn't exist without Level-5.  But those aren't their games, they're Sony's games.  Just like Dragon Quest isn't theirs, it's Square Enix's.

Level-5's games are Layton, Atamania, Inazuma Eleven, Sloan & McHale and soon more like Fantasy Life, Nunokuni and Danboard Senki.  And when it comes to their own games, and arguably the most important games to them, they're largely on DS.
