Forums - Gaming - All Final Fantasies have the same type of characters.

This "emo" thing has so many meanings it has become an it word. A general perjorative term to describe something you don't like.

Point me to the exact point IN FFVII where Cloud said "I can't save anyone" or anything similar.

Vivi? Asking the purpose of your existence is emo too? What's next? Scratching your ass?

Lulu? Oh so emo is not about being overly emotional now, it's about having a monotone voice and never showing any emotion at all? Or is it a dress code?

Don't get me wrong, I hate Squall, but you can't use this emo word to descrive a person who has doubts, a person who doesn't give a shit about anything but a girl, a person who shows no emotion whatsoever and has a monotone voice AND a a complete jackass all at once. That's lazy. The word has lost all its meaning, if it ever had one. People use it now to describe any kind of person they don't like.

Besides Cid being in the same category as Zidane which is completely crazy, Tifa not being anywhere near an overly optimistic person (or even a mildy optimistic one), Auron never ever saying anything about anyone being stupid or ever acting bossy, I say you got the archetypes just right.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

You leave out Fang and Sazh despite having perfect places to stereotype them in.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Awesome. Didn't think Irvine fit so well in his category, but besides that, homerun.

I dont really agree with the bossy part "Bossy person who thinks everyone is stupid except him/herself, and wants everyone to listen to him/her:"

7 - Barrett (i'm the leader of avalanche!), I would rather say Cloud since he was always telling people what to do next and where to go next. I don't remember Barret being bossy at all
8 - Quistis (are you listening?), I remember her crying very early in the game saying that she was not fit to be an instructor
9 - Steiner (no, princess, we have to go home!), that guy was very devoted in protecting the princess from Zidane, but everytime the princess screams at him, he would almost piss over himself
10 - Auron (we will go over there...), 100% AGREE
13 - Lightning (shut up *hits face*), haven't played 13 yet but can't wait

Your actually right

awesome thread bro you really hit home on all the characters...just once they should make like a crackhead character or something lol

i know it isn't perfect, but you get the general idea. i haven't played the older final fantasies in a while so can't be 100% on them, and besides, it's all just to waste time :)

I also noticed that all of the Super Mario games had the same type of characters, too!!

-Italian Plumber-
Super Mario Bros. : Mario
Super Mario Bros 2: Mario
Super Mario Bros 3: Mario
Super Mario World: Mario
Yoshi's Island: Mario
Super Mario 64: Mario
Super Mario Sunshine: Mario
Super Mario Galaxy: Luigi

It's unbelievable!!

I burst a pimple on you! Leave my two favourite chara from FFXIII alone!

Fang's sexy voice will lul you into a stupor while Sazh performs the driveby. No one badmouth the token black guy or the smoking hot semi-British-Aussie accent. (I'm guessing it's Western Australian as it's too 'off' for true British and I've heard similiar accent from folks down their).
