Forums - Gaming - So Ps3 basicly becomes Wii+Xbox360...What reason not to buy Ps3 then?

Or maybe just maybe, you don't realize that the install base is buying games, not just peope buying the 360..

the 360 has 5-6 million more units out there than the ps3, I would be absolutely shocked if the system cannot sell more software then the PS3. Sadly the only place it does that, and by maybe a considerable gap is in the AMERICAS, were the 360 has twice the install base.

Now if you take out WII SPORTS, and all those pack in games that add into wii software sales, maybe you will get a different picture.

Im getting so tired of the "people buy this more than that, therefore its better" if people were to buy a pile of poop, and eat it, over apple pie, would that make it better than apple pie?

It's much better than "this is what I like, therefore I can act like it's objectively better" or "this is what young nerdy males have reviewed best therefore..".

There are other factors as to why things sell, but nonetheless sales are definitely the best metric for what people want to buy.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

No Nintendo software + no RARE + Mandatory Installs = HAHAHAHA.. no.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Ps3 is nothing like the xbox360 or wii. They all offer a different experience from each other which makes them unique. What you have to look at are the games itself.

Because other than a few exclusives, the PS3 still doesn't really have anything that stands out?

The first party support doesn't compare to Nintendo's, the third party support doesn't compare to the 360's, the motion controller will be severely underutilized compared to the Wiimote, and the tech is severely outdated, and increasingly so as the time goes by.

If you are talking about games, then you must be living under the largest rock that has yet to be discovered..

SONY has a 1st party studio that is MUCH LARGER than nintendos, and brings out MUCH MORE QUALITY ip than nintendo.

If you are talking about the motion controller, then I wont argue, since we haven't seen many 1st party or 3rd party titles that utilize the move, and the PS3 has as much 3rd party support as the XBOX 360 has.. give or take an exclusive 3rd party game.

lol

Okay then.

The only reasons not to get a PS3 now are Mario, Zelda and Halo.

Well and Wii still has the price advantage at $200

Who cares about new IPs?  Nintendo's two-decade-old IPs are still completely unsurpassed in any regard by anything SCE has ever produced.

Pretty much sums up what leo said then... Yet you still decided to "lol" at it as you had no real "comeback".

As for being "unsurpassed"... That's a matter of opinion. And i'm pretty sure i can find a lot of people who disagree with you.
